No retractable cord but can be made to fit in with beaters

If they were you would pay 4 times what you did. However, they are chrome plated as most are and will work fine as long as they are not left sitting in dishwater for days.

Mine do not look like stainless, they look more like a chromium plating. This is an inexpensive appliance, so I doubt if stainless is an element.

No, not stainless, probably chrome plated. I've had mine for over a year and I handwash and dry well before storing and haven't had any problems with rust.

The 1 setting is the slow speed. It's not going to go any slower than that. I would like it better if the first setting went a bit slower but it's definitely not as bad as some of the other mixers I've used that are in this price range.

Hah! It's all in the perception. Slow to one might be fast to another. Apparently what the manufacturer call slow is not the same as us customers. Gonna have to live with it. I have found most portables to be the same. Stand mixers are better for speed settings.

I wish I had a better answer, just to let you know that mine has a very short range of speeds, too. I think all you can do is gradually lower the speed till it is nearly off.

This appliance works well and I love the storage for beaters. I cannot say how it will endure since it is new & only used a little.

Great storage

I love the new speeds. The low speed is perfect for mixing. The cord is a great length, and the storage compartment means I'll never lose the beaters again!

Great mixer.

This mixer works well for my sporadic needs. I don't know how well it would work under heavy use but that wasn't a need for me. It worked fine and I really like storing the attachments in the case with the mixer. I can't comment on durability since I've only had it for a couple of weeks.

Great hand mixer for light jobs

I've only had this mixer a short time, and I have only used it twice, but conclude that it is worth what I paid for it. So far so good, Maybe down the road I will feel differently.

affordable mixer

I haven't had for very long but it is similar to the one i had for 15 yrs. I have had 2 other hand mixers with rubber beaters. I broke those within a few months they were $30. They would suck my scrapers into the beaters ruin the mixer and spatula. This one is great price and works exactly like my old one. When i saw this pic of this mixer it looked exactly like the one i had for yrs except with a case. I have used it several times and haven't ruined a scraper or spoon.

I am so happy with the price and power of this hand mixer. I made peanut butter cookies, and the recipe said I might need to mix in the last of the flour by hand....not necessary with this one! This mixer plowed through the thick dough with no hesitation. I also appreciate the snap-on case...what a great idea.

I have only used the mixer a couple of times, but it did the job. I like the case that keeps things together, making storage easier. I am pleased with this product.

Good for the price

I like it because it seems sturdy and the beaters can handle cookie dough.  I purchased to replace my 67 year old Sunbeam Mixer that just gave up the ghost!

Nice and Sturdy

The actual mixer is great and good power , however the beaters are cheap cheap and rust quickly! Was disapointed in this as I had bought this in spring 2011 and only had it for less than a year when noticed rust spots on the beaters when pulled them out of dishwasher one day and so had to toss them out. I had another cheap hand mixer ($15.00 ) before I had purchased this one that lasted for years and the beaters NEVER Rusted! Guess $25.00 don't go a long way now days with a hand mixer.
