No, the washer must be connected to a sink.

no. There are automated mechanisms in the machine for the intake valve.

seems like it would... it doesn't measure the actual water flow in.. I would try it with a low water setting for wash. Fill it, close the lid, fill more if it does not start. You'll have to remember what level to fill the water so that it will start the wash process

sure if that's what you would like to do ....But do not turn it on until it's filled to the right water level.

Not likely... the rinse cycle requires a constant flow of water coming in. If you could, it would only be useful during the wash cycle and then you would have damp/soapy clothes.

I've had one for years. Technically you 'could' fill by hand (If you mean 'by hand' is by Hose or something other than a bucket ... it takes more water than you think) BUT!  it would be pretty close to hand washing.  The machine will stop each cycle if no water can fill (if tap off or intake hose is clogged) and you have to spend the whole time sitting by the machine for each cycle.

yes it comes with the quick connect adapter however the one shipped to me through walmart had a damaged adapter that wouldnt fit on my faucet until I straightened it out.

Yes it does have the sink adapter. I had to take off the aerator on the bath faucet to connect the adapter. It was very easy once it dawned on me that the aerator was what was keeping the adapter from attaching to the faucet.  Google ''aerator faucet'' on an image search and you'll see what it is and how to take it off (you may not have to I did).

No casters. I bought an adjustable dolly from Home Depot.

No casters...we used felt pads to make sliding it around easier.

Laundry

I just purchased this washer along with the dryer for our apartment. After going for about 14 years living in apartments and having to always go the laundry room, it is so nice having them. The convenience and not having to keep putting money on the laundry card make it such a joy to do laundry!! lol I use cold water for the washing machine, you adjust the temp you want with your faucet at the sink. It is very quiet and holds much more than I thought it would. I washed a set of queen size sheets including the pillow cases in it. Also I have washed about 3 pairs of jeans, a couple pair of leggings and a couple of shirts and not had a problem. I wish I would have bought this 8 years ago when I moved into my apartment!

Well worth the money!

Bought the Haier 8.8-lb. 1.46-cu. ft. Capacity Portable Top-Load Clothes Washer for my small apartment so I didn't have to lug my clothes to the laundry mat anymore. I hooked this right up to my kitchen sink, but found it would be in the way in my small kitchen and didn't want to keep moving it when i was done washing. I moved it to my bedroom and hooked it up to my bathroom sink. I have had this washer about a week and so far have done about 6 loads and it works great. It pretty much takes 2 loads of washing in this machine to equal 1 full size laundry basket of clothes. My first load I was able to put in 12 shirts, 2 pairs of pants and about 6 pairs of socks. I thought that was pretty good! I wear a size small tee shirt and size 6 pants so you can accurately get an idea of how much fits depending on size. I would def recommend this. Well worth the $$$

Great Little Washer!

The apartment complex we live in only has a community washer. So like many others, we had to wait for our turn to use them. The clothes came out smelling musty. PROBLEM SOLVED. This machine is great. It's larger then I had expected, which is a good thing. Now we're saving around $100 a month in laundry expenses. Now our clothes smell clean. No longer like oil and dirt. A must have for any apartment dwellers.

Good washer for apt

I'm so pleased with this washer that I wish I would've purchased it sooner! It's easy to use and I have been trying out the different load sizes and it's a great machine! I definitely clean the filters after every use as they are small.  I also purchased the Stalwart Adjustable Telescopic Furniture dolly  and found it is a perfect fit, now I can move the washer closer to the kitchen sink when ready to use.    The only issue I ran into was my actual kitchen sink faucet. I ended up purchasing a new kitchen faucet to make the provided adapter attachment connect. I ended up bringing the adapter connecter with me to the hardware store and tried it out on the display faucets available for sale to find a match . The washer bin itself is larger than I thought. I purchased the magic chef compact dryer in addition to this item and did need to rent a small U-Haul pick up truck. After reading the other reviews while shopping initially, I learned these boxes were too big to fit inside of a car.  It was well worth renting the pick up as I only needed to make one trip. I'm very happy with my purchases here and being able to do laundry in my own home again!

I am fairly Happy wit my purchase, i live in a apt where theres no washer or dryer hookup and i have a family of 4 so lots of dirty clothes LOTS, i been looking into washers for quit some time but could not afford one that i liked and i really had no space for one butt when i saw the price and the ratings on this and the details n specifications i couldn't resist, I am a little disappointed i thought this was a usual compact washer where there was only 1 hose but when i set this up i realized this product came with 2 hose 1 that attaches to sink water intake hose and 2nd was the rinse water out hose where you attach it to the bottom side shown in picture i loaded, i was so upset because they left such a major detail out in the description which is unfair to us customers it was a fairly easy hook up but the 2nd hose the water drainage hose just make such a great washer a little old fashion, I was going to return it but hey for the price of this product i cant go wrong A will pay up to $200 a month in the laundromat the same cost of this washer so worth it, THIS PRODUCT WASHES GREAT AND HOLDS MORE CLOTHES THEN I THOUGHT COMPLETELY SATISFIED F.Y.I MAKE SURE THIS PRODUCT IS EVENLY SETTLED BEFORE WASHING

I bought the product after waiting for some time because HLP23E is discontinued and this model HLP24E is a newer version. I had seen the videos of previous owners of HLP23E and HLP21N and has some idea on what I am getting into. My expectation was to get a portable size washing machine that I could use in an apartment. It looked simple before but I had to go through some research work to make the machine workable.

The machine comes up with an adapter that is of no use to me. My kitchen does not have a faucet to which that adapter can be made use of. Hence I bought a set of adapter and extender to get to the size of the Hair's drain pipe. But here's is the catch. If the inlet pressure of water is more than 100psi then the water will just not go inside the Hair Washing machine. I beleive they have a auto shut-off mechanism if the inlet pressure is more. Besides it starts leaking at the end where the water inlet hose connects the machine. So I adjusted to the water pressure and it worked.

Second most important thing is Haier has reduced their cost by using cheap plastic and rubber parts at the bottom. There is no bottom plate that covers the bottom. The rubber parts at the ends leave black marks on the floor. The machine has two adjustable foots which can be removed. See attached photo. Worst part is the machine is slightly heavy and has to be moved. You can use casters or something else to make is moveable. Hey, by portable Haier means smaller than a regular. They don't mean moveable.

The machine does not make noise and works well.

The drain pipe on a super cycle had so much force that the end where I had the outlet went here and there and my entire floor was full of water. I hate to says this but Hair should have supported and considered this.

Cheap product but will do the job.....

When I unpacked the unit the water supply quick connect adapter was damaged and I couldn't hook it up to my sink. I tried to call the 24/7 hotline number that was pasted on a sticker on the front of the unit but I got a recorded message telling me they were closed and to call back during business hours...so much for a 24/7 help line! I couldn't find a replacement part anywhere so after several attempts I was able to straighten it out enough that it was able to be used. The machine washed clothes well enough but it was difficult to move to the sink and then back to where it is stored. You have to pick it up and hump it around and the offset handles on the sides made if very difficult at best. On previous models (HLP21N and HLP23E) you could run out and buy screw in casters, remove the leveling legs, screw in the casters and then just roll the machine to the sink to do your wash and roll it back when you were done. On this model the leg design is totally different so you cant use the screw in casters. I have a bad back and couldn't keep dragging this thing back and forth so I ran out and bought a wooden board, secured 4 casters to the bottom and then put the machine on top of the board. Now I can easily roll it back and forth with one hand. Horrible design by making this machine without wheels and having offset handles on the sides making it even harder to move. For the dough I spent on this portable unit it should have come with someone to do my laundry or at least to hump it back and forth for me. I shouldn't have to run around trying to replace defective parts or buy stuff to make a meg-shift skateboard so I can roll this thing to the sink and back without needing major back surgery. Check pictures to see offset handles and my wheel solution.

I took delivery of this washing machine 16 days ago and it worked perfectly. Installation was easy and I was extremely pleased. 5 days ago (11 days after receiving it) water started leaking from the drain hose throughout the entire wash cycle. Even as the washer was filling with water, that same water was being drained right out through the drain hose. I contacted Haier via phone the next day (day 12) and the gentleman said a local service company will contact me within 1-2 business days. Today, 4 business days later I have not been contacted so I called Haier again. The lady on the phone said that the local service company is overwhelmed right now and they "rejected my service request." She said Haier will "escalate my service request to the regional level" because of my phonecall. I asked her what would have happened if I hadn't called and she seemed to imply that nothing would have happened. They would have left my service request at "rejected" and do nothing until I call again.

I'm concerned that if my brand new washing machine developed this problem 11 days after I received it, it will not last for the long haul. I am seriously considering returning it to WalMart. Luckily I have about 2 weeks left of the 30 day return window. I will use it if Haier does not fix the machine by then.

The Haier dryer, on the other hand, is excellent. I purchased a 1.5 year old used unit and have had it for about a month. Very good machine.
