GLASS. I HAVE NOT HAD A PROBLEM WITH ANY BEING CHIPPED OR BROKEN. THEY ARE EXTRA-WRAPPED IN SHIPPING PAPER AND EITHER WEDGED IN WITH OTHER ITEMS OR SURROUNDED BY THE LITTLE AIR BAGS USED IN SHIPPING.

This comes in glass. That is how I prefer it. . . . WM packs this item very well - - I always have several glass container items and nothing has ever been chipped or broken.

For the examples you have provided, preserves with a code of "Best By 12 09 11B0051" would be best before December 09, 2011. The new jar labeled "Best by 01 07 12B 0113" would be best before January 07, 2012.

I WOULD TAKE IT TO BE 12 09 AND 01 07 TO BE THE DATES. BUT UNLESS YOUR A REAL STICKLER FOR USE BY DATE, AS LONG AS THE JAR HAS REMAINED SEALED THE CONTENTS ARE FINE BEYOND THE &quot;USE BY DATE&quot; LISTED.

We like Great Value brand of preserves and have switched to them exclusively having used Smucker's previously. Our reason for switching was price, we felt that after trying the Great Value brand when it first came out we couldn't really tell much of a difference in taste... and so we decided to make the switch as we have with so many other products over the years. And we find now that even when Smucker's goes on sale, unless it costs less than the Great Value- we just stick with the Great Value brand preserves.

Great taste great price.

I have been buying this product since I tried it several months ago and will continue buying. The price is reasonable and the taste has been great, I use on toast and crackers or to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches as I do other jellies. Good product for the money and I will continue to by not only because of the price but because of the great taste.
