Try widening your hand placement. Also the question is- can you do a plank on the ground? The ball makes it much harder, so maybe you need to build up a bit more strength before using the ball for that move. Good luck and if you don't give up you will get it.

Maybe you do not have enough strength built up in your arms to hold the plank pose. I use it for bridge and plank.

I simply can not ballance on this ball while doing any planking excercises!!!!

This was bought for my husband who is recovering from knee replacement surgery. He uses it for therapy and flexibility. The fact that it is weighted and doesn't roll away from him is what really makes it perfect.

Does the job

I purchases the Gold Gym ball in yellow. It rolled all over the floor when I was doing yoga and Pilates. I went back to Walmart 6 months latter and found the purple stay ball. I love it to exercise with. When I am doing yoga and other stretches I am not chasing it around the room. The extra weight of the sand helps my core when I am doing my abs. Highly recommend this ball. I am 5'3" and it is great.

Great for Yoga class

I could only perform half the exercises with this ball then what I could do with a better quality ball. It did not hold its firmness very well. After it would deflate a little bit there was no balance needed to perform most exercises cause I had a difficult time even getting the ball to move with just my upper half on it. At 5'5" it is hard to say if I would of preferred a smaller ball or if this size was sufficient.

Basic

I wanted to try something different that I could work out to a DVD and thought this would be a good choice. The DVD that comes with it is really advanced. This is not for your average person. I already to various workouts and thought I was in pretty good shape. When they only offer an advanced workout then it isn't going to be suitable to everyone. Would have been nice if the DVD would have included beginner exercises to do with it also. Also the DVD is hard to follow bc during the beginning of each exercise you can't see the girl bc it is telling you in print that it is aval. on line. I thought it was really confusing. Already returned mine.

Really hard DVD

I bought this ball to use in place of a bench while doing the Body Beast program. First off, this ball comes with a hand pump that is cheap, extremely slow, and extremely tiresome on the wrists. After killing my wrists to inflate the ball, I inflated it to the point where the pump kept popping out. The instructions say that the ball should be inflated so that it has a circumference of 173 cm(68 in). The first time I I tried the ball was only 58in. I tried again, once again killing my wrists with the tiny cheap pump. That time I only got it up to 60in, and once again the pump was popping out when trying to fill it. Needless to say this ball is way too small to be of any use and most certainly will not inflate to 68 inches as the instructions say it should. Save your money and buy a different brand. I won't be buying any more products from Gold's Gym.
