I etch alot of glass & mirror so I use Armor Etch on pretty much a daily basis. I've found out that it can be used on the outside of a window. I've used it to etch the back window of a vehicle about 2 years ago & it still looks good.

I would not apply to a vertical surface. The cream will drip.

Can the etching cream be used on the outside of a window

The amount used is small that it lasts long time.

I would think that 1 bottle would do it. I've got a bottle that I've been using for over a year on everything from mirrors, beer mugs and windows and it's still 3/4 full. remember you only need to put a thin layer of the cream on in order to etch the glass.

With 4 windows that are so large, are you sure you want to etch all of them? You might want to look into buying frosted spray paint instead.

How much area coverage with 22oz Armour etch?

I tried it on a hard plexie type of plastic, it came out smokie.. Didn't like the results, works great on glass though.

It's not for plastic. The chemical will melt the plastic.

If you are into glass etching as a hobby, then this product is for you! I have been using this product for over a year now, and the only problems I have had with it are actually my own fault. You do have to be careful not to get cream where you don't want it, or it can ruin your project. I have used it on regular glass and on mirrors with wonderful results. I also leave it on for ten minutes, instead of the recommended time. I find it gives a better etching effect, and the extra time doesn't hurt my projects. I use white vinyl shelving paper and cut my own stencils for some amazing results!

Love It!

Product works great on newer glass. I tried an old pyrex dish that my grandmother gave me several years ago and it did not etch. Make sure you use newer glass or you may run into the same problem I did. I plan to use this product again!

This works really fast. Be careful and apply generously. This size will huge and will last for many projects.

I love how simple this product makes it to customize and personalize glass with an etching. I would definitely recommend a trial run for first time users, but once you understand how it works its a breeze! Using this on my mason jar themed wedding and very probably on pantry jars in the future :)

An excellent buy! Anywhere else this would cost almost twice as much. Loved shopping online and just having to pick my order up at the store...no shipping costs.

First time etching glass. Armour Etching cream made it easy to etch my jars. The product was ship to my WalMart Store. It did leak a little but a little clean up the product look shelf quality. I would buy this again.

Repurposing old window

I actually ended up using this for not an art project, but to etch glass to prepare it to receive an adhesive. It worked just as I needed it to. My guess is it would work great on wine glasses as well as jars because I was using it on low-e tempered glass. The only regret is I would have wanted more for the cost.

product didn't completely etch/frost glass. Product had so many lumps making impossible to completely cover glass area. after 3 coats I still have spots and streaks in glass not frosted.  Extremely disappointed in tesults. Product instructions were inaccurate.
