No, it can be used outside of the tub - as a free standing, portable tub.

Only use this item the bathtub. The counter is too high off ground and the weight of the water would be an issue.

I would highly recommend that you not put this bathtub up on a counter.

Yes, it needs to be used in a bath tub. It wouldn't transport easily with water in it to dump and there is no drain in the bottom to empty easily into your kitchen sink.

it should have a drain on the bottom my son had one like it but it was a big duck. though i have to say its easier to not use the drain and just dump the water in the bath tub. because not all of the water will drain out properly

For Kids

I have custody of my 5 month old granddaughter, and I bought this to bathe her in. She absolutely loves this bath tub. She plays with the Monky face pillow at the one end of the tub. She enjoys her bath sooooooooooo much that she crys when I have to take her out of the tub to get her ready for bed.

This tub is great for my infant. She relaxes quite well in it. She's quite long, so if I lay her down, she can not stretch out, due to the built in bath pillow. The temperature gauge is an excellent addition as well, because often times, the water does not seem hot to me, so I'm grateful that is a part of the bathtub, which advises me otherwise and keeps my daughter comfortable and unharmed. The price is excellent as we, which is another bonus.

Just Perfect

This is the second tub I'm buying. The first was the Sesame Street Inflatable tub. This tub is just as nice, if not nicer for a few dollars less.
It has plenty of padding, especially on the bottom, which is nice.
It has a large pillow built in, and holder in the front for baby wash, shampoo etc.
My baby is a large 17 months, and there is plenty of room for her.
Very pretty, very comfy,very practical..can't say enough about this!

Great Tub!

It's a great tub, our 9 month old is loving it. While purchasing I tried to find any instructions about how to inflate it, but couldn't get any info on the webpage.

I went ahead and ordered it, even the box doesn't have any information, as to what kind of pump should be used.

We didn't have a air pump, so used the balloon pump to inflate. It took a while but we were able to inflate it.

And yes, like other reviews mentioned the bottom is really slippery. So I have to hold the baby or he slips pretty fast.

Great tub, baby is loving it

I bought this because we have no bathtub in our apartment and my baby was just too big for his infant bathtub. It works fine, I like the pillow and that there is padding on the bottom. It could have been made a little longer though, my child is four months old and is already too long to lay down in it and obviously can't sit unassisted yet so my back gets tired. It would also be helpful if the tub had a drain, but overall it gets the job done and my son has a blast in it.

good option for those with no bathtub

We love having our son in the big tub now with this inflatable bathtub. He enjoys the room and the monkey back rest entertains him. But sadly ours was faulty. After the first use the bottom portion of it deflated. There must be a tiny hole somewhere that we are unable to find. Otherwise it would get 5 stars!

Our child loves it but...

I got this for a vacation we went on. It got the job done. It's kinda hard to fill because it doesn't fit under the bath faucet right. The suction cup to hang was convenient. It is hard to deflate. Took me and a friend double teaming it to get it deflated.

Gets the job done

We got this for a visit to my moms house. Easier for road trips/vacations because you can deflate it and fit it into a suitcase. Only problem with this product is it is very slippery (not slippery to actually stay in place but slippery for the baby inside the tub). My daughter slides all over the place when I give her a bath in it. Cant beat the price however.

Good for travel

I bought his for my grandson who is just 6 months old and still a bit unsteady when sitting up.  It was too slippery for him which made it difficult for me to bathe him.   I'll wait until he is able to sit up without assistance to use it again and buy some non-slip stickers to put on the bottom.

Fair price but slippery

So far the tub has held up well and my 10 month old son seems to like it. However the temp strip had never worked and my son slips around in it a lot. For the price though its a decent product and works for what we need it for. I would not buy for a younger baby though.

A little too slippery

I have no idea how a person can fill up the air. when i tried to inflate air, i was gonna pass out but nothin happened to it. Not even close to inflate. It's just a night mer. I am going to return it
