Just my humble opinion, but I don't think a little pink on the collar should deter anyone from buying this for a boy. I haven't given this to my granddaughter yet, so I can't say everything it does or does not do, but it definitely isn't gender specific. If he likes cats and would be entertained or even comforted by the purring and motion detected activation, I say go for it! I bet you could detach the collar and add a different one if you really, really wanted to. Good luck! and Sorry you didn't get any answers that I could see.

Yes I would buy this for a boy as well as a girl. It is a great alternative to the real thing. It does have a pink bow and tag but I think any child that loves cats will love this toy.

It definitely has actions & sounds of real kitten...may depend on age of boy...given to 4 & 6 yr old girls.

It is great for any child - boy or girl. The pink is only on the collar, so it should be fine. I have 2 older sons and they think it is cute.

I bought it for my 3 yr old son. He loves it and it is a great alternative for a real cat! I told him and his older brothers it has to have a pink bow and collar because its a girl cat.

The button on the foot has to be in the middle. That didn't make sense to me either. One side is on, the middle is off and the other side is try me mode.

There is a off, on and demo switch on the bottom of its foot.

There is an off switch underneath one of the front paws.

There is an on/off/try me switch on the bottom of the foot.

There is a switch on the bottom of one of the back paws that allows you to choose from On, Off, or Try me modes.

On the bottom of one of the back paws there should be a switch to turn on/off.

Therse a on off switch on the top tip on the bottom on the right back legg and that should turn her off or on. I hope this is helpful to you.

I called the company to find this out myself!! Front of the back, right paw. There is a switch, that slides ... slide it to the middle. Hope this helps!!

You have to take it out of the box to get to the battery compartment and turn it off of demo mode.

I got this for a niece's birthday. My daughter and I played with it last night before wrapping it for the party. We both love it. I can't wait to see it unwrapped this Saturday. I know it will be a great hit with the birthday girl.

This was a present. My 2-1/2 yr-old granddaughter loves cats, but can't have a real one. She opened the box and here was this cat meowing and moving its paws ... she was enchanted! She played with it all day. It is mechanical though which means it has a hard body and is not all soft and cuddley (which didn't stop her from hugging it!) And the good news is it does have an off switch for adults who may get tired of listening to it. But, overall for a young child it is a keeper.
