Sorry but from what I remember it was one D battery. I have had it for almost 5 months and use it every day and havent changed out the battery yet so I cant fully remember. lol

I read the info again and it states "C" batteries. I finally figured out they go in the Giraffe.

It uses C batteries. I put rechargeable C batteries in it, and haven't had to recharge them yet and have been using daily for over a month.

It is battery powered. I haven't had to change the batteries yet and I've had it for 7 mons. now.

3 "C" batteries that are installed in the bottom of the giraffe.

Like others said before, 3 'C' batteries in the bottom of the giraffe. As an attest to battery life, I've had this since the day my son was born, and the batteries are just now needing changed at almost 6 months old.

Yes, you can detach these and attach anything that can be opened with a clip or velcro. The loops that hold the toys don't open, so the toys that come with it have openings in the loops so you can remove them.

You can easily attach your own toys to the fabric loops. The ones on the toy are detachable so you can move them around - even on the mat itself for tummy time.

the mat is def washable. One of the most easiest covers/mats ever to wash compared to other items. You just (unbutton) slip the legs out of the holes and pop it in the wash and line dry. Dries in no time...

No, you must spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do NOT immerse in water, it says so in the instruction manual. I have found that it repells liquid very well. Just wipe with a cloth and small amount of soap and it dries quickly.

I bought this toy for my son when he was about a month and a half. He loved it! There are lights, music, toys, and it's so colorful! This gym would keep my son busy for at least the full 20 minutes that the music would play and he would smile, giggle, and kick his little arms and feet the whole time! I just could not believe what a great toy this was and so easy to take places! Now my son is 7 months old and he still likes to play with it! I would recommend this gym over all the other gyms out there! Well worth the $$!
