I put mine in the dishwasher with no issues.  If you don&#39;t use the drying cycle though there will be small rust spots on the blade, but those can be wiped off.

These are sturdy, and sharp knifes. It comes with a heavy duty block to store them and always have them handy. They have a sharp scissors, 6-steak knifes, paring knife,8" bread kbife,8" fillet, 8" butcher. 5"chopping block to store them, 3 deferent size spatulas, measuring spoons[1/4 tsp.,1/2 tsp.,1 tsp., 1/2 tbs., and 1tbsp. These knifes are really great, I use them daily several tomes a day, it makes preparing food a snap. Be real careful the tips are really sharp mas I found out the wrong way , reached in water and got stuck through my glove, thank goodness I was wearing. I really like these knifes.

Handy Knifes

I received my Fiberware 22- Piece Wave Edge Cutlery Set with Block a few weeks ago, and it came in time for Labor Day for my BBQ. This set comes with a 8 in Chef Knife which I love, 8 in Slicing Knife which prefect for Slicing my pork shoulder on Labor Day, 8 in Bread Knife, 5 in Santoku Knife, 5 1/2 in Utility Knife, 6 Nice Steak Knives which are 4 1/2 in, Paring Knife 3 1/2 in, A Set of 5 Measuring Spoons and a Set of 3 Spatulas (which my Son loves), A Pair of All-Purpose Household Shears and a Block to store all these items. Also, what I love about these Knives you don't have to Sharpening them and High-Carbon Stainless Steel Blades make them easy to cut through meats, breades, fruits and so on. The black handle grips on these Knives are prefect because they won't slip out your hand. This set of Knives are prefect for the person like myself loves to cook and grill. They would make an excellent gift for the person who loves to be in the kitchen preparing great meals.

Cutting Up In The Kitchen!

This set of knives is very sharp with a comfortable grip and is well-balanced. As seen in the pictures I've included in this review, the left side of the blade is more deeply serrated than the right side. In most applications this does not seem to be an issue, but IF you are left handed and are slicing something firm like potatoes, be aware that the blade will tend to move to the side, preventing a straight slice. This problem was not noticed by the right-handed users of the same knives. I used this set to cut bread, tomatoes, potatoes, lettuce, beets, squash, raw meat, cooked steak, and a multitude of other things. Overall, I must say that I was quite satisfied with their performance. The scissors that are included are also very sharp and work well cutting open packages, as well as more typical kitchen shear duties like cutting chicken joints or skin. Just don't forget to thoroughly sanitize them after use like any other knife.
The knife block is beautiful solid wood that is well constructed. The measuring spoons are plastic but seem solid, accurate, and have a helpful measurement of a half tablespoon included in the set. The scrapers seem to be a bit cheaply made, but being a bonus item, I was not disappointed in them. They declare on them they are not heat resistant, so think of them only for batter bowl scrapers or some such as that.

Good Solid Set

These are the best knives I have ever purchased, well made and very sharp. The block included has guides to make sure the knives always go in the same slot.

Farberware 13 piece knife set with block

This might seem silly, but I've been looking for some sharp knives that have a PLASTIC handle, not WOOD. You would think wood would be preferred -- just a "natural" look, a sign of quality -- but after three sets of knives that have virtually been ruined by repeated washes in a dishwasher or a long soaking bath courtesy of my careless kids, I really am fed up with replacing those wooden-handled knives. I ripped open this box of knives, all the time praying they would be plastic, even though I expected wood from Farberware (could not tell from the product description what they were made out of, so took a chance). Prayers were answered; these knives have a nice, thick, easy-to-grip PLASTIC handle that does NOT melt, splinter or get soggy in the dishwasher! As an added bonus, the knifes are really SHARP -- wonderful! I've only used them for two weeks, but can't see a bit of wear on them. They clean up nicely no matter how messy the kids are. Like the "block" the knives are in, too, because it IS actually solid wood, and if you'd like you can stain and seal it right out of the box (probably good to seal that raw wood, at any rate). And though I have no complaints about any company wanting to throw in a measuring spoon set or other useless stuff, I have a message for Farberware: I'm a bit tired of getting these hard, stiff "spatula" scraper things included in knife sets. C'mon, we all know you want to count each teaspoon and tablespoon as part of the 22 items so you can brag on the box -- we're not stupid; we know we're only getting 15 or so knives, but that's OKAY -- but who in the world can use these hard so-called spatulas to get anything out of a bowl or jar? We're all spoiled by silicone; this hard plastic is a joke! In fact, I used the included kitchen shears (and thanks, I can always use more scissors) to CUT one of the spatulas in half to see how sharp the shears were (see picture). Not counting that against you, Farberware, just perplexed at your reasoning; love the knives, though :) !!

SHARP knives, love the PLASTIC handles!

I'll start out with my couple of major cons…#1 is BUYERS BEWARE! I say that only because it takes up a lot of space (it's high, measure before buying). My second con is that the spatula's could be of better quality.

Now the pros: I received this 22-piece Wave Edge Cutlery Set that features razor-sharp knives that maintain a precise edge and never need sharpening. The knives feature triple-riveted handles for a classic look. They are also comfortable to hold.

The set includes an 8-inch chef's knife, 8-inch bread knife, 8-inch slicer knife, 5-inch Santoku knife, 5.5-inch utility knife, six (6) 6-inch steak knives, five (5) measuring spoons, three (3) spatulas, 3.5-inch paring knife, universal shears (one of my favorite accessories), and a storage block.

You can dice, cut, chop, and slice in a breeze with this set. I have always liked Faberware products and this set does not disappoint.

Fantastic set......

THE FABERWARE 22 PIECE WAVE EDGE CULTERY SET AND BLOCK ARE THE BEST ADDITION TO MY KITCHEN IN A LONG TIME. THEY ARE THE SHARPEST KNIVES I HAVE EVER OWNED. YOU HAVE EVERYTHING THAT YOU NEED IN THIS SET. I DON'T NORMALLY GO FOR THE FABERWARE BRAND. IN THE PAST IT HAS ALWAYS SEEMED JUST ORDINARY OR YOUR BASIC BUDGET FRIENDLY ITEMS WITH BASIC QUALITY. I MUST SAY I AM IMPRESSED WITH THE QUALITY OF THIS KNIFE SET. THESE KNIVES ARE SUPER SHARP, I THOUGHT WHEN I SAW THEM YEAH RIGHT WAVE EDGE SO WHAT IT CAN'T BE ANY BETTER THAN ANY OTHER KNIFE, BUT I WAS WRONG. AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PHOTOS YOU CAN SLICE TOMATOES PAPER THIN IF YOU WANT TO, SO I GIVE THE WAVE EDGE AN A+. THE MEASURING SPOON SET AND THE SPATULA SET ARE KINDA OF CHEESY, I REALLY HATE THAT COMPANIES INCLUDE THINGS LIKE THIS JUST SO THEY CAN SAY THERE ARE MORE PIECES IN THE SET, BUT I USE THEM AS WELL. AS I SAID THIS IS STILL THE BEST ADDITION TO MY KITCHEN IN A LONG TIME, AND THE KNIVES SEEM TO BE STURDY I THINK THEY WILL LAST A LONG TIME.

SHARPEST KNIVES I HAVE EVER OWNED

Extremely pleased with the overall quality. Nice-they state no sharpening necessary. Time will tell. Life in the kitchen will be the 'true' test. I'm ready. The knives have a great, comfortable feel. Even through frozen beef they worked quite well. You can really get a good thin cut for stirfry meats. The shears are not the best. Seem a tad out of alignment. The wood storage block is tremendous as it doesn't feel like it will tip over easily. That's a perk. The set came with not only the knife set, block and scissors, but measuring spoons and spatulas. The latter are what I call on the more 'flimsy' side. But extra spatulas can always come in handy. This set is what would make a great gift: house-warming, student off to college, etc. Most practical. Check it out.

Farberware-ready

I've been wanting to invest in a good knife set and I started with this 22 pc Farberware set. Knives and Scissors storable within the wooden block, 3 Rubber Spatulas and 1/4 t. to 1 T sized Measuring Spoons all in the box. I usually prefer a straight edged blade as opposed to serrated, but I couldn't possibly knock this set until it's been tested. So, I began with one of the 8" knives and was able to cut and clean frozen chicken with no hassles. I washed the knife and immediately used to cut raw potatoes. The potato cuts were randomly easy to challenging to cut through and I want to blame that on the blade being serrated. Which is why I only gave 4 stars(I would've liked to have some of the blades be straight edged instead of all serrated) It did however get the job done. I used one of the steak knives instead of the parer to slice a few stalks of green onions and it did an amazing clean cut job. Most times a serrated blade tends to drag across or delay cutting with such a fine vegetable, but this did great. I will possibly go back and forth between uses with my straight edged blades. They seem pretty sturdy. I haven't experienced any loose blades, threats of breaking or rusting and I'm pleased thus far.

Makes the cut

For the inexperienced at home chef, this product is great. For someone like me, with a little more experience, it would be in your best interest to pass on this knife set for many reasons, but first, let me list the positives. This knife set is very conveniently packaged to fit into one small box. The wooden block is completely put together and the knives are easily assembled into the block. It looks pretty and doesn't take up more than a few inches of space on the counter top, the blades are very sharp and the handles work well with people of any hand size (save for those with child size or giant sized hands). The set comes with a full range of basic knives (chef's knife, bread knife, boning knife, paring knife, slicing knife, and surprisingly a santoku knife as well). For those just starting out to become the families own personal chef, I recommend this set because the wavy build of the blade teaches you proper cutting technique (with the exception of making a paw out of your secondary hand, which is very important) while the handle is formed for proper holding of the knife. However, I found the the weight of the chef's knife was not properly balanced for the experienced cook. I am in no way a chef, but I know my knives (have been cooking since I was very young) and these knives leave the weight of them to be desired. The handles on the knives, as well as the extra's (including the rubber spatulas, the measuring spoons, and the even the kitchen shears) are very poorly made and I fear may break as soon as I try to use them for any of my heavier recipes. Bottom line, not for the experienced and use with caution.

Better for the Inexperienced

Really poor quality, in the first set the wood block was broken, I returned the set and got a replacement, on this one one of the knifes handle broke where the blade is attached, it's barely inserted into the handle. The rivets are just decorative.
