I must say that I am very impressed with this battery charger. This unit not only charges your car battery but maintains its health as well. This unit has all the bells and whistles for maintaining your car battery. The alternator check is a fantastic feature that is overlooked by many.

Excellent Car Battery Maintainer

Everyone should have one of these. It not only charges your battery, it can also start your vehicle, check your alternator status, and somehow it can help eliminate build-up on your battery plates. This thing makes jumper cables look like an artifact from years gone by. It is definitely something every one should have in their vehicle. Especially with the cold front headed out way. I feel a little safer knowing I won't be stranded with a dead battery.

Great idea!

This small but mighty beast has the power to get your engine started after just a minute with it's 40amp jump start option! When we needed to leave right away only to find out someone had left the dome light on all night it had me up and running in less time than it took to find it and hook it up. It is a solid built unit with sturdy clamps that are going to last us for years. And it has so many other things it can do like recondition an old battery to try and get it working again. On top of that it can also check your alternator with the push of a button to make sure it isn't the reason you are having battery issues in the first place. It's a no brainer, buy it!

Life saver!

My granddaughter has a 2014 Ford Focus that had a dead battery and this charger (which has to be plugged into a wall outlet) was able to recharge the battery.  But, it will not bring a totally lifeless battery back from the dead. This unit is not a jump starter, but charges batteries on a slow basis.  It is also a battery maintainer and will keep batteries charged that are not being used on a frequent basis.  In our household, the maintainer function will be very useful for our garden tractor and the snow blower, both of which sit idle for extended periods each year.  You can also check lead acid battery alternators for optimal function.  It has built-in cord storage in the back, and the clamps have been powder coated.  This unit has a 2-year limited warranty.  We are very happy that we have added this practical and useful appliance to our household.

Battery Charger/Maintainer

I really like the way this battery charger and maintainer works. The functions that this charger offers is very impressive. This charger is well built and is heavy duty in many ways. I have used this charger a few times and it never disappoints. I plan on getting many many years out of this and then some. You won't be disappointed, the easy to use instructions are very accommodating when setting this up to use what a great charger/maintainer to have.

Fantastic batter booster

It’s important to understand what this product does and does not do. I initially thought this would jump start my car if I found myself stranded away from home and it will NOT. That’s not a negative aspect of this product because that’s not what it is designed to do. It will jump off your car but you have to have an outlet to plug it into, aka the convenience of your home.

It does what it is designed to do well. We recently had temps in the teens for several days with ice. All of our cars are outside in the elements. Our newer vehicles started fine but my husbands “deer lease” vehicle would not start. We were able to take the battery off, put it on the charger overnight and it was ready to go the next morning. 

The other features we have not been able to test but will most definitely will come in convenient is the ability to test the alternator Since that is commonly a problem if it isn’t the battery. In tough situations, having a tool that helps troubleshoot multiple issues at once is great.

Not a portable Jump-starter

Ever start has amazing products in general, but this one is really awesome! This 40 amp battery charger and car start has a little bit of everything and it is so useful. Everyone should have one of these. It not only charges your battery, it can also start your vehicle, check your alternator status, and It even gives you a battery recondition. It is definitely something every one should have in their vehicles, and it makes you feel safe knowing that you won’t be stuck with a dead battery.

Great item to always have handy

Good if you have the use for a plugged in charger/ jumper. I got this for garage use to charge batteries. Especially bike batteries after they sit in the winter. Does the job quickly i have had luck with leaving it plugged in for 30 mins and gets nicely prepped to got. Recommended would be 4 to 8 hours to charge and equalize but that's what an alternator is for. Recommended to have around the garage comes in handy.

Handy tool

I have always trusted ever start when it comes to my batteries. This 40 amp battery charger and car start has a little bit of everything it is awesome. It charges the batteries very fast and you can also check the voltage of your alternator and your battery. It even gives you a battery recondition. My husband was so excited to get this he was acting like a little kid in a candy store would definitely buy again

Awesome battery charger

After owning several cars for over a decade (I know it's no super long like many of you) I've found many times where I needed a battery charger. Yes, you can technically go to a store and drop it off to be charged, but you actually have to drop it off for many hours - whereas you have a device at home to charge your battery (even at night) is much more convenient and practical for most. I have used high end battery chargers so my review may be comparing those to this charger, but please hear me out. First, I noticed that the device is very light and plasticy. I was a bit concerned that it felt "cheap".   I still decided to thoroughly test it out to see how it works. The AC charging cord is on the shorter end (about 5-6 ft), so be prepared to have an extension go to your car or be ready to take out the battery from the vehicle. I hooked up the power to the machine and it installed defaulted to LI (Lithium Ion) mode. I had to click to the Lead Acid mode on red button to begin the charging. The charger did it's thing and began charging up the battery. I was able to click on voltage to see the voltage that the battery was currently at by clicking on the Voltage button. The device made very little noise as it was charging and seemed to worked great. My battery was in decent condition so I couldn't try the battery recond mode or the engine start mode, but I think they should work well considering that the charging portion worked well. After unhooking and unplugging the device from power, I noticed that the device still held power for about a minute. The alligator clamps feel durable and I really like that they extend far for larger batteries. I've had alligator jaws that are smaller, therefore you struggle putting it on the battery - but these ones almost overcompensate - which is a good thing. The handle at the top of the device also makes carrying it much easier - which is appreciated. I wanted to mention that this charger is for lithium LiFePO4 and Lead acid batteries and AGM / GEL / WET batteries. It also mentions on the box that it can charge and maintain most 12 V Automotive and Marine batteries - so cars and boats and possibly others as long as the specifications/requirements are met. Overall, I'd highly recommend this battery charger due to it being so easy to use. The 4 buttons make it simple and easy. The light is bright and easy to see even during the day. It's fairly automatic in my opinion and I'm happy to have available a tool that is a must in most homes. Despite it feeling on the cheaper end, I think that this choice was made intentionally to balance out cost and weight, so I think this was necessary. Overall, a great product.

Great Battery Charger

The charger caught fire and burned to a black the first time it was used.  Other chargers have served well but this one burned up.  So the review is obvious.  What should I do?
