I've used several brands of these Self Adjusting wire strippers. This Ever Start model performs just as well or better than my name brand pair costing $10 more. It is not a light weight tool... it has some heft to it. The handles / grip has a good non-slip feel to it. It will automatically strip the outside insulation off of 12/3 Romex indoor or outdoor AC wiring... then just as quickly auto adjust to strip the insulation off the individual wires. I definitely recommend them to anyone who will be doing electrical work. They also work equally as well on smaller DC automotive and low voltage landscaping wiring. It has a built in crimper and wire cutter. I've never had a issue with Ever Start products.

Excellent self adjusting wire stripper

Not too heavy of a weight making it easy to grasp. Husband says it's easy to use, nice solid tool to have on hand. Wire can slip through the teeth occasionally but not too bad especially considering the price point. It's self adjusting for your wire size. The center part is for crimping. Would definitely recommend having a pair of these in your house.

Sturdy & Easy to Use

These wire strippers are very easy to use, and just the right length to handle comfortably. I used a very thin piece of wire to see if the stripper would handle thin wire. It stripped the wire better than expected. I also tried a thicker piece of wire and again, no problem, the stripper worked like a charm. This tool is extremely convenient and easy to use. The stripper also has an insulated and non insulated terminal crimper and an adjustment knob to fine tune. I highly recommend this product for ease of use.

Very Easy To Use

This wire stripper tool is perfect! It has great weight, grippers, and performs so much easier than old school wire strippers and crimpers. I was excited to get this to aid in my crafts, but my husband would like to keep it in his toolbox! Haha! Not going to happen. This tool is great quality and handles beautifully. Great, effective tool!

I'm a tool guy, I have every specialty tool ever invented and usually use them once and then loan them out to my friends.

This is one speciality tool that I had not seen before, so I jumped at the chance to test it out on the job.

I have always used a wire-cutter with medium pressure and pull method to strip wire with mixed results.

This tool is 100% full-proof with all gauges of wire. Slide the wire in and squeeze the handle it self-adjusts to perfectly strip the insulation off the wire, without taking a portion of the copper strands with it.

My co-worker and I setup a smart room for our University and spent a week stripping various wire gauges, electrical, speaker, even super thin networking Cat5 and this tool worked flawlessly.

The built in wire-cutter and soft rubber slip-free grips are an added bonus.

If you are a tool guy, this is a MUST HAVE for your collection!

Ever-Start is a great brand and the UL listing shows it has met rigorous quality and safety standards.

Top of my Must Have Tool list!

As soon as these wire stripper/cutters came in the mail, my husband and I had to try em out! The grip is really good
and doesn't pinch you when using them. They strip and cut with ease and can accommodate any size wire up to 24. They are self adjusting and you can plainly see which size well to put the wire in for easy cutting. Very sturdy construction so you know they will last a long time and you can easily fit them in your pocket if you need to and they won't poke you like my old ones do!!

Versatile tool!!!

I have found removing the insulation from wiring to be challenging using the old fashioned methods that I have always have used through the years. I decided to try this tool and see if it would make the job simpler to accomplish. I found it does a quick and simple job of removing the insulation from wiring. I however found the connector crimping part of the tool to be hard to use due to the location. It is a good tool for removing wire insulation however.

Easy to use

This works wonderfully for many gauges of wire and insulation. However on THHN it only strips the outer layer of insulation and does not make a clean cut. This tool does not have a true blade for cutting. It grabs the insulation on both sides and depends on the tensile force generated to break the insulation and remove it. I would still recommend this project to anyone one wanting to do DIY projects around the home. The tool itself is made of quality materials and seems to hold up well under normal use.

Makes electrical jobs easier

This wire stripper/cutter/crimper is a good tool to have. I got it because
I usually end up having some handyman job to do around 
my home and lacked this tool in my tool box. 
It adjusts to different wire gauges with a knob for stripping. The wire
enters sideways. Then it has the different crimper sizes in the lower
handle. Then in the upper handle part is the cutter. 
It has a ratcheting open and closure. The handles are insulated. 
I thought this was a good budget choice. 
I may need it for rewiring a lamp but have not started that project yet.
It's good to know I have this tool in case I need it.

I received my Hyper Tough Self adjusting wire stripper a few weeks ago. The Hyper tough self adjusting stripper is well constructed. The Hyper Tough Self Adjusting Wire Stripper is quick, smooth and simple. It also has an adjustment knob near the auto stripping area to fine tune your wire size. The Hyper Tough Wire Stripper also has the ability to crimp. Cutting and crimping has never been as quick and easy. The Hyper Tough Wire Stripper comes with insulated grips. I do recommend the Hyper Tough Self Adjusting Wire Stripper.

Great Wire Stripper Tool

I've only tried this on small gauge wire (I'm not sure of the actual gauge - see the picture), but the teeth that are supposed to grip the wire don't grip well. The wire tends to slide through the teeth easily. In order to make it work I must pinch the teeth together with my fingers.
