no. This is just a scanner. Will scan documents, photos, film negatives, slides. Scans to your computer, then you print with a seperate printer.

Mine did not come with a printer. I already had a printer so I was looking for a scanner which did not have one.

does this scanner come with its own printer or do i have to buy it seperatly?

I have placed 4 photos and the scanner recognized all 4 seperately. On a couple of occasions, it grouped 2 photos together and I had to re do.Not sure but I think it has to do with the spacing I left between each photo.

Yes, but if you place them right next to each other it will treat them as one photo and you would have to crop them to seperate them.

Yes. There is an option to set your scans to go wherever you tell them to. For instance I created folders for each side of my family making it easier for me to upload them later to the correct relatives. All of mine are set to go to my external 2T byte in predesignated folders. Its easy to switch which folder too. I just have to remember to do it.

I have used in Epson perfection photo scanner for many years.  When I found there were no drivers for my old scanner, I started looking for another photo scanner.  Epson is the only company that makes a scanner, which will scan 8 x 10, 4 x 5, 4 X 5 negs / positives and other formats down to 35MM.  I am happy with my new scanner.  Thank you Epson your product is both well built and economical.

I have owned other scanners in the past and this one beats them hands down. Spent several months researching and shopping around for a scanner that would scan 35mm negatives, etc. This one does an excellent job, and the included software is a nice bonus. Very easy to use and worth the price.

Best scanner around

Ordered direct from Epson, it arrived in perfect condition, and worked as expected. My wife is a watercolor artist and she is very happy with the scans that she gets from the V600. I would recommend it without hesitation. I would like it if Epson included the Arcsoft "Scan-n-stitch" software with it.

This scanner has been in heavy use in my office, since I bought it new in 2009. I paid about 1/2 the price for which it is selling today (2023). 

It always performed flawlessly until very recently, when the scanning speed started to slow down. 

I know exactly where the problem is - the grease on the Rail Cylinder hardens, and sticks, instead of lubricating - perfectly normal after so many years. I've serviced this before on customers' scanners, and it is a common ageing symptom.

I disassembled the scanner, and did an ageing service - Replaced the old Consumer-grade 85°C capacitors on the PCB with new 105°C Industrial-grade units; and removed the old sticky grease from the Rail cylinder, and spread a thin layer of industrial-grade synthetic lubricant.

Problems solved, reassembled, and my V600 returned to flawless fast and precise scanning. I expect no problems for at least the next 15 years.

Well done Epson for making equipment which lasts and is repairable, especially after 14 years of heavy use.

Long-term review - 14 years of superb reliability

I just received my scanner and set it up.  My first scan was of a picture I painted on a canvas board with acrylic paint.  I was amazed how bright it is.  I also scanned an old photo and was amazed of how bright, vibrant the colors are and the clarity when photo is enlarged on computer screen.  I cannot wait to scan the 2000+ photos I have.

WOW!!

Impressed this scanner detects my negatives automatically, you'd think that would speed up scanning jobs but you'd be wrong. You see, if you don't place the negative frame in its exact placement the software will error out. Then you have to adjust and start it all over again. Seems like a locking mechanism would be an easy fix… or, don't require such a mechanism to scan. Especially since the film holder is pretty flimsy and I can't see it lasting a few months. It took me an hour to scan one set of negatives. I'm sure I'll get faster but I have a massive backlog project to get through and this thing does not make bulk scanning fast. High res quality? Yes. Just don't break the plastic holders!

Strangely efficient and slow at the same time

Brand new scanner, and put through 250 or so 35mm color slides and noticed a blue/green line suddenly appearing?  Reinstalled software, no change.  Looked for update driver and the newest is 2013 copy....Seriously!  They must want you to purchase a current 3rd party driver?

Blue/green line appeared in scans.
