Not sure if you have a 99 cent Only Store where you live but in case you do, I recently brought 20 packages of the mixes that go with the oven for a dollar each. I even brought a package for $6 from Target just to make sure it was the same product and it was!

You can try eBay they sell homemade and or real mixes some for cheaper prices

you should be able to use ingredents from home i don't see why not it comes with box mixes.

To answer your question, YES, you can use betty crocker cake mix or prerolled cookie dough. My daughters and I share a mix. For example: I will make two dozen cupcakes in the oven and let them bake and play with the rest of the batter in the Easy Bake Oven. This way, everyone in the house 'wins'.

my daughter uses regular cake or muffin mixes, but you just have to mix up the batter and set some aside in the refridgerator as it make more than necessary.

You can google online and there are recipe ideas using things you can buy from the store (cake mixes, etc.)

My mom mentioned that we always used the Jiffy brand mixes with our Easy Bake as kids, since they are smaller and cheaper.

Go to Amazon.com to get the mixes. They are all under $1.00 each. I purchased cake mix, cookie mix as well as pretzel. It wouldn't hurt to try your home recipes just remember you are not using a 350 degree oven.

It does not say you can use ingredients from home but I guess you could try.....Buy a regular mix and help her to cook it in the real oven. yo will at least get something you can eat.....

I used the refrigerated choc chip cookie dough with last year's version of the Easy Bake Oven and they turned out fine. We cooked them 6-8 minutes and it worked!

Walmart has some but I found you can find more choices online.

Walmart and Target both carry the replacement mixes.

you can buy them at wal-mart, target, big kmart, even online at amazon.com - as long as they are in stock

online and instore at walmart and most retailers. you can also use normal baking mixes as long as you measure them first.

I have found the refills are generally available at Walmart, ToysRUs, Amazon.com, and Hasbro's website.

The cupcake and baking pans are approx. 6 in x 6 in.

The pans are not that big, only about 3" x 4"

pans are very small. cupcake pans are also very small.

The cupcakes are about the diameter of a quarter and the thickness of a piece of bread.

the cupcakes that my daughter made...stack 3 nickels on top each other that is the cooked sized. pan makes 6.

Tiny...pans are 4 x 6 ...micro mini cookies and cupcakes!

The cupcake pan makes flat nickle size cake coins. there is also a little cookie sheet for one small cookie. The ultimate oven does not have the round cake pans.

The pans are smaller than small, maybe 3-4" wide, 2" deep. If you were to use a regular box of cake mix, you could not finish cooking that much in the Easy Bake in one day. :) The EB does offer little ones hours of safe play. They get to mix, bake, and decorate their own creations; nothings better.

To help with the cost and time, I will bake two dozen cupcakes in the oven, while the kids bake and play with whats left in the EB. This has really worked out well and the whole house gets to benefit this way as well.
