Ordered this and if didn't work was going to return it back to Walmart. Had a antenna from my cousin that worked in side the house and was giving me problems. So I did a search and reviews and most people liked this antenna. I thought for 20 bucks if it didn't work I can return it. Had it inside house and got just as many channels but didn't want in side. Had a friend help me put it out side and used Dish-networks pole (got rid dish network) and is only 6 foot ( pole was suppose to come with this and it didn't) I got more channels. I got just as many channels as my friend that has a big antenna on top of his house and a few others in my neighborhood that also have big and high up antennas. I am out in the open more so that might help too getting more channels. So for 20 bucks I think this is just as good a a big higher priced antenna.

Replaced RCA ANT112F rabbit ears with this one and reception is markedly improved. I have it sitting on a box in my attic roughly facing NNE (Salem to Portland, OR) and I am on a hill with pretty much a clear shot to Portland. I receive many channels from 2.1 through 49.1. Assembly and installation was super easy and quick. Signal strength meter on tv had antenna pointed in right direction quickly. I haven't paid for cable since they dropped analog broadcasting. Now I receive more channels than I did with basic cable, just different choices.

    • There is NO SUCH THING as a "Digital Antenna", that is just a marketing scam. An Antenna is an Antenna - VHF, UHF, AM, FM, etc. - "Digital" is just the way the content is "encoded" in the frequency "Wave" (VHF, UHF, AM, FM, etc) that is broadcasted. In the attic you are going to lose signal strength due to the roof and wall materials and that can be a LOT. Long pole or short pole, you only need a clear line of sight to the transmitters antennas where ever they are. Anything in the way - buildings, trees, hills, billboards, etc. diminishes or completely blocks the signal. Choose your pole accordingly. BTW - this is a UHF ONLY antenna, so you are NOT going to receive TV stations that still broadcast Digital TV on "High-VHF" (Channels 7.1 thru 13.x), ABC and Fox Network typically still use VHF DTV frequencies. UHF is frequency channels 14.1 and up. You are better off buying a VHF AND UHF with FM antenna.

    • TY everyone for providing your answers to my question. I am happy to report, since the installation of this antenna 3 weeks ago, I am able to pick up channels 2, 6, 8, & 11! Also happy to report, the reception & picture quality is so amazingly better than that of my old cable TV system, that I wish that I had done this a long time ago!

    • I receive channels 2.1 through 49.1 as stated in my review. Specifically in my area: 2.1, 2.2, 6.1, 8.1, 8.2, 8.3, 10.1, 10.2, 10.3, 12.1 plus many other channels. I don't know why it says 14-69 unless that is just referring to the old pre-digital signals.

    • It depends. This is a UHF antenna and the Channels 2 through 13 are VHF channels. But many VHF channels have become UHF channels and when you click on a VHF number, like 2, you may really be getting UHF channel 44 or whatever. Most VHF channel numbers are really UHF channels now. However, there are still a few true VHF channels out there. All I can say is try. You would probably bat at least 75%.

    • As antennas are mounted higher they tend to be more in "line of sight" of the broadcast antenna and have fewer objects blocking the signal path. I found that an antenna that was even smaller than this one was almost fine and that one was setting just about 10 feet above ground level. I am planning on putting this antenna in my attic. Because of the reflecting grid (i.e., the wire mesh) this antenna has some directional preference. That may be of greater importance than pole length. Pole length is only important with regard to signal strength in that it affects the height of the antenna.

    • This antenna is unlikely to work well in any attic. The only exception being if you are within 5-10 miles of full power transmitters.
