  • A. Most broadcasters that transmitted analog on a VHF channel (RF 2 - 13) moved to the UHF band (RF 14 - 69) for DTV, and kept the old channel designation as it's DTV or Virtual channel designation.

  • A. The channels displayed on your TV have little to do with whether this antenna may be able to pick them up. Channel 2-13 may be broadcasting in VHF or UHF. It just depends on what they chose after the switch. They still display the old numbers on your TV so that they dont lose the branding they have built over the years. Check out TV Fool to see what the real frequencies are for the channels in your area. This will help the most when trying to pick the right antenna.

  • A. This is a UHF ONLY antenna, so you are NOT going to receive TV stations that still broadcast Digital TV on "High-VHF" (Channels 7.1 thru 13.x), ABC and Fox Network typically still use VHF DTV frequencies. UHF is frequency channels 14.1 and up. You are better off buying a VHF AND UHF with FM antenna.

  • A. TY everyone for providing your answers to my question. I am happy to report, since the installation of this antenna 3 weeks ago, I am able to pick up channels 2, 6, 8, & 11! Also happy to report, the reception & picture quality is so amazingly better than that of my old cable TV system, that I wish that I had done this a long time ago!

  • A. I receive channels 2.1 through 49.1 as stated in my review. Specifically in my area: 2.1, 2.2, 6.1, 8.1, 8.2, 8.3, 10.1, 10.2, 10.3, 12.1 plus many other channels. I don't know why it says 14-69 unless that is just referring to the old pre-digital signals.

  • A. It depends. This is a UHF antenna and the Channels 2 through 13 are VHF channels. But many VHF channels have become UHF channels and when you click on a VHF number, like 2, you may really be getting UHF channel 44 or whatever. Most VHF channel numbers are really UHF channels now. However, there are still a few true VHF channels out there. All I can say is try. You would probably bat at least 75%.

  • A. There is NO SUCH THING as a "Digital Antenna", that is just a marketing scam. An Antenna is an Antenna - VHF, UHF, AM, FM, etc. - "Digital" is just the way the content is "encoded" in the frequency "Wave" (VHF, UHF, AM, FM, etc) that is broadcasted. In the attic you are going to lose signal strength due to the roof and wall materials and that can be a LOT. Long pole or short pole, you only need a clear line of sight to the transmitters antennas where ever they are. Anything in the way - buildings, trees, hills, billboards, etc. diminishes or completely blocks the signal. Choose your pole accordingly. BTW - this is a UHF ONLY antenna, so you are NOT going to receive TV stations that still broadcast Digital TV on "High-VHF" (Channels 7.1 thru 13.x), ABC and Fox Network typically still use VHF DTV frequencies. UHF is frequency channels 14.1 and up. You are better off buying a VHF AND UHF with FM antenna.

  • A. As antennas are mounted higher they tend to be more in "line of sight" of the broadcast antenna and have fewer objects blocking the signal path. I found that an antenna that was even smaller than this one was almost fine and that one was setting just about 10 feet above ground level. I am planning on putting this antenna in my attic. Because of the reflecting grid (i.e., the wire mesh) this antenna has some directional preference. That may be of greater importance than pole length. Pole length is only important with regard to signal strength in that it affects the height of the antenna.

  • A. This antenna is unlikely to work well in any attic. The only exception being if you are within 5-10 miles of full power transmitters.

1st I want to say I have 3 other outdoor type antennas. One in a room up stairs and 2 in the attic. 2 are the large 80 x 100 inch antennas. And on UHF this Eagle Aspen antenna out performs all of them. The main reason I bought it was to watch Me tv. And it gets that station excellent. I have 13 stations in my area that I can receive and this antenna receives all but the 3 PBS stations which are 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3 but it is a low watt station and the tower is 49 miles away. I set up the Eagle Aspen on top of a tv downstairs and it gets 10 stations without moving the antenna. Note I did not have trouble finding the stations. Just pointed it west where most of the towers are. Also I did not have to use a 24 db amplifier or pre amp to get those. Some of the stations are high vhf and the other 4 are Uhf. The towers are 47 to 49 miles from my house. The price for this antenna was great and it is small enough to use inside or on a pole outside. Note that you have to scan for the channels once it is pointed towards the towers. Also it gets the stations without sometimes loosing the signal like some antennas do.

Ordered this and if didn't work was going to return it back to Walmart. Had a antenna from my cousin that worked in side the house and was giving me problems. So I did a search and reviews and most people liked this antenna. I thought for 20 bucks if it didn't work I can return it. Had it inside house and got just as many channels but didn't want in side. Had a friend help me put it out side and used Dish-networks pole (got rid dish network) and is only 6 foot ( pole was suppose to come with this and it didn't) I got more channels. I got just as many channels as my friend that has a big antenna on top of his house and a few others in my neighborhood that also have big and high up antennas. I am out in the open more so that might help too getting more channels. So for 20 bucks I think this is just as good a a big higher priced antenna.

After years of paying to much for services from other providers I decided to try going digital. Ordered this antenna and tried it out by just holding it in my hand inside the house. Scanned for channels and it found 21 channels. I invested moderately in a mast and some cable and installed the thing on my rooftop. I rescanned the channels and it picked up 67 channels. Well I was dumbfounded why I haven't had this for years. Nearest transmitters are approx. 70 miles away from my geographical location so it has a very good range. Young man at big box store where I purchased wire explained to me that I would need a signal amplifier at around 50 bucks, Wrong I needed wire. needless to say pleased is not the word for my experience with Eagle Aspen DTV2BUHF Outdoor Antenna, gonna save enough to by me a new TV, go get yourself one today!!

Cable just got too pricey. If we cut the cable for a few months, they come back with a low ball number to get you back. We are streaming programing now and saving a bundle, with the antenna for the local stuff. Good product.Glad we bought it.

Using this antenna with my motorhome. This antenna with no amplifier is a great improvement to the RV crank up and antenna with an amplifier that came with the RV.
