This model doesn't have brakes; on a fixed-gear bicycle you brake by pedaling backward. For safety reasons many fixed-gear bikes also have brakes.

There isn't one. Fixed gear bikes can be stopped by resisting the turning of the crankarms.

Yes you can coast down hill. The bike comes with what is called a flip flop rear wheel. Has a gear on both sides. One spins and one doesn&#39;t.

Is this a "true" fixed-gear? Does this make coasting downhill impossible?

This Fixed Gear Bicycle will be able to accommodate a 5'4" person.

5 Stars, FOR THE PRICE.   These aren't exotic materials, or the highest build quality in a bicycle....but what it IS, is $250 cheaper than buying it from the manufacturer, which is already extremely cheap.    It IS a solid bicycle that, when set up properly, REALLY moves quickly.  Presta Valve, look into it before you go to fill the tires and don't have an adapter.    Seriously, about to buy out Walmart's whole stock of this.

Budget Road Bike that doesn't suck

When I recieved my bike from FEDEX I had a couple issues with assembly.
Where the rim goes onto the fork was bent and the pedals were labelled wrong.
When I got the bike together I was real happy with it.
Bike rides well its light 20lbs and fast. And did I mention looks very cool.
