[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband and I tent camp in a small two person tent and we're so excited to have received this tent for our outdoor hobby's. It is so amazing! It was so simple to put up and took all of five minutes! The interior is so room and comfortable, the lighting is such an awesome addition! We like to keep things simple but this has extra amenities all on one. The extra material on the bottom for weather proofing is so comforting to know when grounds are more saturated than normal. It's a little heavier than we're used to in its carrying bag but a small price to pay for making the outdoors more comfortable to be in.

There is an opening to see the stars while laying warm and comfortable in your sleeping bag. It zipped up completely and let in no cold air through the night! Perfect for a family of 5!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I underestimated just how big an 8 person tent was going to be, I set it up in my front yard just to test it out prior to planning any trips and it was almost too big to do so. The rain guard gets put on last, or if you're like me and want to use the tent to watch the night sky you don't have to put it on, the top of the tent itself is a nice mesh fabric. It comes with two lights that are powered by normal batteries. The only issues I had was the zipper is a bit tough around certain seams, and the rain guard gave me a hard time trying to put on.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Never did I imagine I would be testing a tent in the snow, but these are the things we do for love. Now that I'm inside and thawed off, I have some thoughts on the SkyDome model tent from Coleman. 

The good: 

This is the tent that you want if your goal for camping is to gaze up at the night sky, for stargazing the view is unparalleled when the cover is removed from the tent, you get a true panoramic view and feel immersed in nature. Set up is quick and simple, by making the poles clip on it really streamlined the set up process we all dread. The material the tent is made from is lightweight yet feels durable, and it dried off quickly—definitely a plus, no one enjoys a wet tent. Lastly, the carrying case is so handy! It makes it so easy to pack up and go whenever you're ready for an adventure.

The bad:

My husband and I have different opinions on this first point, the poles are connected to the base of the tent. I feel like this is more cumbersome than having detached poles (they can get tangled) but my husband sees the benefit of having them attached because it means never having a lost pole. The tent would not reasonably fit 8 people, it's perfect for our family of 4, but with 8 people you would be getting your cuddle on, whether you want to or not. Lastly, when setting up the tent one of the pieces attaching the pole to the base of the tent came unsewn. I'm sure it was just a small manufacturing defect & will be easy to sew—but if we were truly camping (rather than testing it out at our local park) this would have resulted in us being without a functional tent if we hadn't packed a sewing kit. 

Overall, this tent is a good buy but best for small/average families rather than larger groups of more than 4. If you really want to feel like you're in nature & see the night sky—which let's just be honest, is one of the best parts—you'll love it. We'll be enjoying this for years, and I couldn't be more excited for warm weather to get here!

Best tent for stargazing!

Longtime Coleman lover; friends all joke Coleman should contact me to test out their gear because I always bring: my Coleman trailhead II cot, cooler, pop up, air mattress, air mattress pump, two burner stove, with a couple of Coleman chairs and a couple of Coleman sleeping bags. 

So needless to say I was excited to test this tent out, being that I was now camping for two, rather than just solo. 
This tent spaciously fit my queen size Coleman mattress and trailhead II cot in the corner (used the cot as a bench or storage space on the far right and mattress in far left of tent.)
 The mattress was perfect for me and my girlfriend with the awesome built in LED light. Super romantic. Each light pack takes three AA batteries and I love that with my air mattress pushed up to the left, I could easily lean up and turn of the light switches, given the placement of the battery pack pouch holders for the lights. 

The tent was spacious and accommodating. So many mesh pockets for storage and organization. 
Hanging mesh net pouch at zenith or inside tent is not good for heavier items as they tend to fall out. 

 The Set up took three tries to master. Always recommend doing a test set up at home before going camping. 

I will say: deconstructing the tent was a learning curve, being that the online community and in-bag instructions don't really have much data on how to breakdown the tent.
 I did have an awesome lightbulb moment while breaking the tent down for the 3rd time while leaving the site:

The tent poles are built into the fabric of the tent, when deconstructing the tent, I noticed these red Velcro straps perfectly lined up with each set of black and grey poles on each side of tent. Make sure to neatly fold your tent poles and then use bright red Velcro straps to secure them before rolling up your tent. I found that keeping the rain fly inside the tent and then deconstructing/rolling it up was most efficient. 

This here is a solid family tent for your hot summer nights or even your colder ones. I took it to the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas and it was just fine in 30 degree nights weather. Just make sure to bring your appropriate Coleman sleeping bags for whatever weather you are going to experience. 

I give this tent 4/5 stars. I feel it should deserve 4.5/5 but it's not an option. The .5 reduction is solely for the lack of deconstruction advice online and built into the bag.  The instructions inside were unfortunately not the clearest and seemed vague for deconstruction. 

Awesome product and awesome brand. I ain't goin nowhere without my Coleman gear.
