Yes, there is padding, not as much as the seat, but gives you some comfort from a hard back of a bench.

The back is padded but you can't really tell but it does provide support.

There is no way a 250 pounder will fit into one of these. I just purchased two and returned both because they were too small and too thin, and I'm considerably smaller than your son.

It does not attach to a bench. You just sit in it and lean back.
I would say it would fit him just fine.

You can attach the cushion with the two straps on the side they can be attached to the arms of a stadium seat. The cushion doesn't appear very think at all but it was very comfortable provided comfort for over 6 hours. I think a 250 pound person would be okay if they can fit in a stadium seat.

Bought 2 of these for our boat. They are great.... look much nicer in person. Nice and light weight if you want to carry them with you to a ball game or anywhere you need a seat.

Nice portable seat

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Coleman stadium seat is the perfect addition for anyone spending a lot of time at the field for your kids' games. I got this a few weeks ago and it has been great. It comes in a compact roll held together with velcro straps and opens to a chair that sits on the bench or bleachers with an adjustable back. The back also has a pocket to hold small items. I was able to lean back fully l, like in a normal seat, without any unbalanced feeling.  I totally recommend this seat.

I have back problems and this chair is great. Easy to use, affordable and lightweight. The strap broke and I didn't even do anything but besides that its been good. I use it when I go canoeing and enjoying sports activites.

I use mine for sitting on the edge of the bed and I have no back support, plus in chairs that I have to lean back in.. This way I can adjust it for the support I need.. The seat is comfortable, it's soft and firm.. The only thing I don't like is the back folds down every time you stand up and you got to lift it and hold the back to sit down..

I bought this for my gf when paddle boarding and she is loving it, instead of buying an expensive kayak seat I'll buy one for myself and use it when paddle boarding and fishing!

Totally better than expected, feels very comfy and well made.

Cheap and great quality!!

It's very compact and light. There isn't a lot of padding to sit on and the back support is fair.  It's not as good as the firmer, sturdier and heavier stadium seats but it's adequate for its size, lightness, and price.

Happy with product

This statium seat is definitely not worth the money. It would not stay adjusted, I was constantly having to correct the straps for the back to stay in position.

Disappointed

This product is very cheap (both price and quality). I returned it because I know it will break after one use. It is a very weak design and most likely will not hold up for any length of time. I'd rather spend a bit more and have something that will last for years.
