It's a six person tent but we fit two queen air mattresses in it and still had plenty of room for our stuff, dogs, etc. the screened “porch” area is great for keeping dirt out of the tent. Also it holds up pretty great in the rain

Awesome!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this for my two young sons and I to go camping with our Trail Life troop. It fits the three of us quite well with most of our stuff in the tent and water proof stuff out in the "screen room".  In a pinch we can fit three adult camp chairs in the screen room for a bug free meal. I would be able to have more space in the tent if I packed more efficiently or left some stuff in the car, but I do not have a need to when it is just the 3 of us.

We had a few rain showers on our recent camping trip and the boys were able to stand in the screen room against the tent without getting rained on (subject to the direction the rain is falling). No rain came through the seams or zippers, and the screen room's mesh strip in the floor allowed the rain to drain out with just very minor pooling.

It is GREAT to have a "mud room" that is screened off from the bugs where you can take off your shoes before getting into the tent itself. I suggest putting a towel just inside the tent flap to store the shoes after stepping out of them in the screen room.

The dark room fly absolutely keep the tent cooler than the outside, especially if you are not fortunate enough to have shade from trees. I was able to take an early afternoon nap without a problem thanks to the dark room fly. Cross ventilation is okay, but having 1 whole side that is a screen under the fly makes it a little hard to control the airflow.

The tent is very easy to set up and break down. I am able to do it by myself if necessary with little trouble. I'm 6'1" and can stand at full height in the middle of tent. I have received many comments on having the screen room and how great it is. If Coleman makes a 10 person dark room with a screen room, I will purchase it in a heart beat.

The photos don't show the darkness well because of auto white balancing, but it is considerably darker with the fly.

I camp by myself with a little dog. This tent is awesome! I was able to put it up all by myself. I did a couple things wrong like rain fly sideways but it stood up well! Even in a windy condition. The screen porch was the best! My dog is just too small for a tie out this was great for us to hang out. It's small and tight but I loved it. Friend came by and we both sat and relaxed in the porch. 2 camp chairs would be perfect but I love my gravity chair so that's why it was a bit tight. Used my cooler as a table also too big. Next weekend smaller little table getting packed!!!

I wanna write an honest review !! Its pretty nice and eazy to install it took me alone around 20 min, its good quality and really cozy inside ! It has nice big windows to enjoy to view out side we did had humid around the windows so be aware of that and the front door porch got  damaged on the first used because of a chair we had inside other than that is a pretty nice tent !!

Honest review

I used this tent this weekend and I loved it! I liked the little floor mat before the screen room and how easy it was to put up. I'm still not sure about the back window being screen only and being unable to cover it up, but we had good weather and it was facing the trees. We didn't have to use the rain fly yet. I did wish there was a peg to put down at the front center of the screen room to hold it down tight when you're trying to pull the front zipper up. I also kind of wished there was a hook or net in the interior at the center top to hold a lantern like a tent I had when I was a kid.

Super easy to put up!

The tent is OK and it withstood more wind than I thought it would. Even so, i think it's overpriced and mine had one of the pole clasps missing. the 10th is nice but not really any nicer than the Ozark Trail tents of similar shape and size, which are less than half the price.

pretty good tent

Has a huge huge huge mesh opening in the back that cannot be closed. I assumed that a darkroom tent would allow all vents/windows to be closed but NO. The huge rear vent just ruins it all even with the rain fly on. No built in lighting, and super unclear instructions that made assembly a pain. But the tent is spacious and has useful storage pockets. Below 50 you'll freeze to death without heat or tons of blankets and clothing. Highly practical screen room as a porch area.

Too cold and a rip in screen on purchase

Needs to redesigned and made of better material. The rain fly is attached by velcro which squeaks against the rubber material when the wind blows. The poles bend in a 10 mph wind with the support strings tightened (see photos). You cannot sleep against the walls on a windy day or you will get hit in the face by either a pole or the wall. The rain fly runner material rubs against the poles and will eventually poke through. (See photo). I will be returning this tent and getting one where the poles slide through the tent, not on plastic clasps.

I work in the outdoors industry and use a wide range of brands and levels of quality. I am meticulous about using, maintaining, and storing gear properly, and a lot of my personal gear lasts years with high use. My main personal tent from a mid-high level brand is a decade old and performs like it's new. I bought the Carlsbad tent not to use professionally or in wilderness or adverse or rough weather conditions. I bought it for a car camping, established campground, fair weather FAMILY camping. After two nights, in the aforementioned setting, it has proven to be garbage. The seams are all loose and perforated the whole length. Why? It was not used in any wind whatsoever. It was not tensioned incorrectly or stretched in any way. There are lines etched in the nylon from where it was simply folded when it was stored, and holes are visible all along these seams. Why? It was swept and shaken to remove any sand or dirt or whatever before I folded/rolled it up for storage. Is it supposed to be stored fully assembled because the fabric can not handle being folded? The last night we used it, there was no rain- just light drizzle, barely more than a heavy fog. Nothing was touching the walls of the tent, yet the nylon completely wetted out and dripped in to the interior. I've had way cheaper tents that never did that, even in ACTUAL rain. This is a Coleman family tent, for kids and a dog, it isn't some high performance item that should need to be babied and fussed over. I dont buy Coleman  products to treat with kid gloves, and I dont know anybody who does. I don't know what to do with a tent that cant handle light morning mist. Giving it away will just ruin someone else's camping trip, but what an environmental crime for all this crap to go straight to a landfill after a single use.
