The TAG series of scopes are meant for use with firearms and should work fine on your 270 win.

I am sure this scope will work just fine on a 270 win.  There are just to many cartridges to list them all.  I am sure there are bullet choices that will work well with the TAG reticle.

It's an AIR RIFLE scope I don't think I would use it on anything past a .17 HMR.   Dave

It mounts on a Picatinny  Rail, if your air rifle has one it will mount right up.

if you are shooting targets @ less than 10yrds, you will not be able to adjust the power beyond 6x or 7x .This is strictly a long range scope 25 yrds. and beyond. If you want to get the full range of power adjustments. The pinty  4-16x50 AOL is the same need to shoot at long distances to get the full use of your power ring. If not these 2 scopes will not focus at less than 10-15 yrds. I keep one of each with my field target air rifles in case the targets are 25/50/100. yards out. other wise I use the U.T.G ..4-16x50 AO easy tap air rifle  scopes. a little more expensive but you can dial in 12x or better at less than 10 yrds, without blurr or parallax problems ( rule of thumb 5 yrds to infinity = good for an air rifle ) 10/15 yrds to infinity is iffy for an air gun)

I just tried to install this scope on an AR-15 with a free-float hand guard that extends the picatinny rail to about 15 inches forward of the receiver.  With the rings that come with the scope, the front end of the scope contacts that rail such that the parallax adjusting ring cannot be rotated, and the front lens cover cannot be installed.  Although I haven't actually tried it, it looks like the M4 hand guards would also contact the scope.  I think it would clear the early "skinny" carbine hand guards.  Since I just tried the installation, and it is after hours, I have not yet contacted CenterPoint (now Crosman) for their suggestions.  They should have some suggestions because an AR with an extended picatinny rail is an overwhelmingly popular configuration for long-range shooting that might utilize this kind of scope.  Hope this helps!

As an addendum to my previous answer, I found a one-piece cantilever scope mount that allows mounting the scope with proper clearance to the rail and mounts the centerline of the scope the exact height of the standard AR-15/M16/M4 iron sights (2.6"), so that all the military sight-in targets work.  The mount I purchased was ridiculously cheap (but I am sure you can pay more if you really want to).  Since I did not find the mount on WalMart's site, it would be unethical for me to tell you where I got mine, and how little I paid for it, but I want you to know that, with a little research, it is possible to mount this scope on an AR-15 in an almost ideal position.  The only problem I encounter is that it is a little tight for the fingers to get between the charging handle and the eyepiece to charge the rifle, but since this is not a "tactical" scope, that should be no big deal.  I hope this information is useful, and that the withholding of certain specific information does not cause too much inconvenience.
PS:  The ones I got, as best I can tell, are generics EXACTLY like these that I found on WalMart's site:

Well suited for target shooting with PCP, multi pump and CO2 air rifles. Scope reticle is fine enough for precise aiming. It can compete with more expensive scopes. This scope also minimizes parallax which is very important for target shooters. This scope is also okay for low to medium power break barrel air rifles.

I'm very pleased with the CenterPoint 6-20x50mm scope. I mounted it on my Daystate Huntsman .22 cal. pellet rifle, making an excellent combination. The accuracy is shown here with 5 shots in the target from 20 yards. The only disappointment came from the fact that I had to replace the mounting rings that came with the scope as they were too wide to fit my 3/8" dovetail scope rail. Fortunately I was able to replace them with the CenterPoint 1" High Profile Ring Mount (CPM2PA-25H) for a very affordable price. I had a CenterPoint 4-16x40mm scope on this same rifle but prefer this new one as it is about 1/2" shorter and the eye relief is greater, making it more comfortable to use, not to mention the additional 4X.
I feel compelled to respond to another review that gave a poor rating to this scope and described it as "junk" because it didn't hold the focus as he (or she) changed the power (or magnification, zoom, etc.) setting. This is obviously from an inexperienced user as I've had numerous scopes through the last 60 years of shooting with one that cost over $1200 (in 1990's money) and I've never seen one that maintains the same focus throughout the power range.

Excellent scope, unbeatable price

for the price this scope is great. put it on a regular ar just for the shooting range. At 200 yard it works great. its a little blurry at full zoom but you can't complain about anything at that price. the light up cross hairs are kinda unnecessary, but useable. front focus works well. the elevation and wind adjustments are not very clear with clicking into position, they do work maybe not exactly. I wouldn't want to adjust them too much but they work for zeroing. overall if you can't spend any more then 100 bucks or your just not the person who puts that kind or money into optics,  this is a great option.

for the price its everything you need

Easily a 5 Star scope at the price point! I use these scopes on my rimfire rifles, .22, .17, and .22 magnum. They are outstanding, clear edge-to-edge sight picture, crisp focus, and excellent magnification. The build quality is outstanding and the all hold zero. I have had great results out to 200 yards with the .17 HMR.

Great scope at a fantastic price!

value for the money. Don't buy this and expect a F-series scope. That said, this is a very good scope. I've mounted it on a Ruger .204. New rifle, too. Put 500 /- rounds through it and it's holding. so far, I'm happy for this purchase. Have an experienced mount the scope and have it bore sighted. I haven't used the illuminated reticle, but it came with a battery and Allen wrench. I series mine for 200

satisfied purchase

I don't like paying for a used rifle scope. Package was tapped back together no instruction manual lens cover was not on the scope but it was left off the scope and bouncing around inside the box so it could have scratched the lenses.This scope to me has been returned and was sold to me as a new rifle scope but I know better

Not happy

I have used Centerpoint scopes before and they jave worked fine so I bought this one. the crosshair ring broke loose after 15 rounds. I took it back and Walmart replaced it no problem. I mounted the second one, bore sighted it, and then took it out to sight it in. The same thing happened again after 13 rounds. I am very disappointed.
