The Camco RV Vent Insulator has a full three inches of foam. It fits snugly in the vent opening to help stop heat transfer, keeping your RV cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. The Camco RV Vent Insulator fits standard 14" vents and includes a removable synthetic fleece cover.

The fleece cover is machine washable. The foam part is hand washable. Make sure both are dry before using, to avoid mold.

No problem, as the insulator is pliable enough to conform to reasonable projections.

Do you hand wash the RV Vent Insulator covers or put them into the machine on cold?

Does it help lessen the wind noise coming from the vent fan when driving?

You can modify the item, create a hole that the vent handle fits into the insulator. If that is not an option then remove the handle for a snug fit.

The cover blocked off 70% of the light, I was using a poly heater wrap. Put black tape on it and shoved it inside, 85% light reduced. It has been cooler during the day after installing it now.

Fit good, worth the money

This product is very handy when camping, fits great in RV Vents to block out cold, made a huge difference in temp inside trailer, Great product great price!

Camco RV Vent Insulator

I had been dragging my feet on getting these until these horribly hot Texas days. And, they have really made a difference. While I don't like having to make the RV darker, it has dropped the interior temp at least 3-5 degrees during the heat of the day by having the vents covered up. Hopefully they will do the same for keeping it warm in the damp, cool winter here.

They work!

I gave this to my father in law for his new camper as i already have them installed on all my vents.  He wasn't sure if he would like this but put in his bedroom and controlled the temp. better and cut out the daylight.

Not as good quality as what I bought years ago but serves the purpose.

Works!

I bought a couple of these years before and they had a reflective panel on one side. Did not notice they have 2 styles. I returned them unopened for refund and ordered the 45192 reflective panel version. Other reviews say the non-reflective version is more prone to mold growth.

This insulator was easy to fit into the space, but when I removed it a few months later, the top of it was moldy. I used the sunshield version at the same time my RV bathroom, and that one didn't develop any mold. Buy the sunshield version instead. It insulates as well as can be expected, fits the space and is very affordable.

Traps moisture and gets moldy

Works ok... without the nice plush cover. Expensive piece of upholstery foam. Would not stay in place with the cover due to the depth of the vent. Depth of vent especially if equipped with a vent fan/control knob needs to be in the specs for reference.  Can use the foam but easier/cheaper to buy a piece of foam locally.

Check the vent depth.
