Even though this antenna is classified as Multi-Directional, it is simply directional. In short, you have to point the front of the antenna towards the transmitting towers.

Got rid of cable and love saving over $50 a month with the antenna. I miss some of the cable shows but having free viewings of tv is better. It came 3 days early also.

Tv antenna

The first 2 Mohu 30 and 60 Leaf antenna's I tried couldn't pull in a few key stations that this one does. Excellent reception on all channels. The only thing is that it is pretty sensitive to the exact angle facing the stations. A few degrees off and you can lose a few stations but if you play with it for a few minutes it gets everything.

Pulls in Everything

We just go this antenna and it was not very expensive compared to others like it. I didn't want something bulky or too big. It is the perfect size and although we chose to put it outside it is for indoor or outdoor. My husband attached it to the side of our chimney at the top but not sticking above it. You can not see it from anywhere other than the back yard and yet it is not huge and thick that it draws attention to it. We did not have to attach it to a pole above the chimney and it still gives great reception inside all the rooms of my house. I am extremely pleased with it altogether.

Wow, truly impressed

Channel Master is a trusted name in antenna products, and I was pleased to see that their quality is still excellent. We recently cut the cable for our TV programming, and this allows us to receive local programming from stations around 40 miles from us with consistent signals. I have it mounted outside on a tower at a height of thirty feet, with 50 feet of coax leading to the antenna, and a preamp in the line.

Trusted name in antenna's

I mounted this antenna on a mast about 2 feet from the ground.  Got a crystal clear picture immediately.  Definitely worth the money. Lots of channels available.  No need for cable with this clear picture.

Excellent Picture

4 months ago, I shopped around for an external antenna for an older friend of mine. I advised, and he purchased, this antenna which I proceeded to install above his house.  I recently found myself wanting to replace my interior antenna so I purchased the same model and installed it. I am very satisfied with the reception and would recommend the same to anyone wanting to receive free TV reception within a 30 to 40 mile range. My set up is roughly 32 miles from the tower and have noticed a weak signal from one particular channel. It still beats paying for cable or satellite reception.

Let me start by saying that I think all antennas are way overpriced.  All they are is a piece of cheap aluminum arranged in some form of array designed to pick up radio frequencies.  About $5 worth of aluminum, plastic insulators and the cost to manufacture.  Of course there is the cost of engineering, but that is a one-time cost for the manufacturer. The rest is pure profit.

Many are built with hollow aluminum tubes (usually the larger antennas), but this one is constructed with solid aluminum wire making it well constructed.

A good antenna will have multiple matching elements in an array that most effectively conduct the signals in the range of frequencies you are trying to collect and many are directional, meaning that you need to arrange it in a direction facing the signal towers.

This antenna has the array of elements fairly matching and straight meaning that the elements are all the same length and bent in such a way as to make a mirror image of the other.

As a comparison, I hooked a coil of wire to the TV and scanned for channels and recieved 25 channels.  With the Channel Master ULTRAtenna, I received 37 channels.  Only 12 channel difference over a coil of wire.  I would have expected more.   Using a digital TV signal finder, I only get 1-2 bars on the highest setting and I live in the city with the towers less than 20 miles away.

Overall, it is better than nothing and is cheaper than most on the market.

Well built, but not a big performer

This thing is really great. It works better then the old long distance antenna on a rotator and a high pole. Because it is vertically oriented, it presents more area to the signal. Solved all my problems with digital TV in my weak signal area. I do have it on an amplifier and I am getting 97 signal strength readings on signals I couldn't even get on the old antenna. The jury is still out however, on reception in bad or stormy weather. We have had calm weather ever since I received the antenna. But I'm really happy with it so far.

I tried it. Set it up in my attic in place of my old yagi antenna. Sadly it could not receive signals as well as the old one. I packed up the new one and returned it to Walmart.
