I recently ordered and received 4 of these and yes, they're 1.25 lbs. I agree that the item description should be more specific.

Also note the low price (a pretty good sign they're small weights). And remember, if they're not what you're looking for, Walmart has a great return & exchange policy.

Yes, they are 1 1/4 lb as in the picture.

They can be used on dumbbells or or a barbell. I ordered them for my set of dumbbells so I had to order 4 plates to keep it even (one on each side of the two dumbbells). You would only have to order two plates for use on a barbell (one on each side).

I got them for a barbell - would depend on the diameter of the bar.

Barbell. Though you could use some of the smaller plates on dumbbells as well.

It's not a question of dumbbell Vs barbell, it's a question of Standard (1") Vs Olympic (2"). If you need Olympic (barbell or dumbbell), then these are the wrong size. If you need Standard, then these are the right size.

The 2.5-pound plates are 0.6-inches thick.

They are a little above half an inch thick and close to 5" in diameter.

Product: Exactly what you'd expect. Small, black, about 1.25 lbs, with a 1" diameter hole in the middle. Perfect for micro-loading.

Price: I searched long and hard for affordable 1.25-plates. Other sites had ones but they were prohibitively expensive.

Shipping: Shipping was free with site-to-store! Awesome.

Overall a great shopping experience and a solid product at a phenomenal price.

I originally bought some of these 10lb plates from Amazon to make a fixed pair of dumbbells. However after I needed to make some more dumbbells I shopped around and found the same plates $7 cheaper at Walmart. Like other reviews mentioned there was a few of the plates that have had their paint touched up in spots from the factory. This was the only difference between the original plates that I had bought. However since they were 70% cheaper I can live with the blemishes.

Well worth the money

I recently ordered CAP Barbell weight plates (Total 110LB) as an addition to my existing 100LB weight set.They are of good quality and I am satisfied with the purchase. Feel sorry for the Fedex guy though as I stay on 2nd floor:(

Bought a couple of the 7.5 lb plates. Hard to find these.  The Cap are thin taking up the same space as 2.5 lb plates on my dumbbell and letting me completely max out the weight the extended 18 inch handles will hold with a clip style collar.  Not cheap, but recommend.
