This was a Christmas for my son but ended up being a gift for the family. We had so much fun playing this game Christmas day. Once you get use to the different commands the fun really starts. It was a big hit with my family. This will be added to our Friday family game night.

Fun for the whole family

A classic have that's great for entertainment.  A classic game that'll never get old.

Bop it

This is the newer version to the old Bop It Extreme game.  This has two pieces, one on either end, instead of the four different functions on the "extreme" game plus the BOP feature where you smack the center.
BUT the challenge is to master 10 different electronic voice commands and to remember which end to use.
As a 60+ adult, I felt some actions were a bit silly, but, my 18 & 24 yr old nieces had a
blast trying to keep up and really enjoyed it!
The bop beat music and vocal commands are great and add to the fun.
This can be solo or pass-around party play.
You need to look at the pictures on the back of the box to learn the moves e.g., comb it/golf it/selfie it/hammer it/sing it/drink it/ saw it/cradle it/whip it/answer it.
Says 8+ for age, I would say best age is 10+.

BOP IT!

If you owned the original you will really enjoy this one.  It has all the old functions as well as some new added functions.  My 10 year old daughter loves this thing and can't stop playing.  Everyday I get home she has to challenge me to a bop off just to see how much she can beat me by.  I would like to say I usually let her win but she has gotten to a point where its now the other way around.  I think it's also got some great benefits in keeping your memory sharp to so I enjoy trying it daily with her for that reason as well.  She even got her grandparents into it as well which is amazing.  For the money it is worth it and a nice little game to have around for fast laughs.  I received this product at a discounted price in return for my unbiased review.

Remember playing this game as a kid now it's back with a lot more additions.  It's got three different modes - action, classic, and beat-box (which all of them you can do with two players in pass mode).  The new moves are fun and challenging.  It's difficult at first to remember what all of them actually are at first.  Of course if you get lucky like me, just move it around and sometimes it registers as the actual move.  I would recommend this as a good gift to have around Christmas time to have the family compete with each other.  Fun to see people play it and their reactions. Bop It - Still Got It

I received this product at a discounted price in return for my unbiased review. I have never played with the original bop it but I have to say that this is probably one of the best toys out there. My kids are 6 and 8 and they are addicted to this toy. Even my husband and I are excited to join in on the fun. Many toys that we get for the kids will only last a few minutes and they may just dump it in the toy bin. But this one has been a big hit! They want to play with it all the time. It has such fun sounds when you get the motions correct and incorrect. I like how it tells you the count at the end of each game with how many commands you got correct and it also reminds you of the highest score to date. The commands are so much fun but it can get tricky. Since the commands are based on motion detection, there are some times when you get it slightly wrong and it doesn't catch it or the reverse where it may buzz you when you thought it was correct but it might've been too close to a similar command. These are very minor flaws b/c it's still so much fun and you want to continue to challenge yourself to beat your own score and your opponents.

my wife used to love the old version of bop it, where it had 4 different things you could do.  this one has a slew of commands it can give you, most of which are based on motion detection.  unfortunately this is where i think it can get confusing, or the accuracy of the motion detection is a bit off.  for example - comb it, sing it and drink are very similar motions and sometimes register all the same, or at times you do the motion, and it will register as something incorrect.

overall though, it's still a pack of fun, great at parties.  make a drinking game out of it and everything will be fine...

Overall - still a good time

Overall this game kept me entertained for about 15 minutes. That isn't necessarily a poor reflection on the game but as an adult I lost interest in this pretty quickly. With that said, I could see children really getting into this game. I remember the old version of Bop it and this is definitely an upgrade. This new version has multiple new actions that you have to do which makes playing it even more intriguing. I also like the fact that this is an interactive game and can be quite addictive once you get into it. This is a solid choice for a holiday gift. Start it to Bop!

Every year I buy the new bop-it for my kids.  They love it,  and I love how it keeps them busy.  It just stop working after only a month.  It will still talk,  but it doesn't recognize any movement like bop it, pull it , or anything. The packaging was so flimsy I didn't think to keep it,  and now can't return it.
