it did but half of it leaked out of the bottom

Mine may be an anomaly, it leaks. However the few times it work, the puree did very well. You have options that allow choices. Just &#39;test&#39; the unit for leaks before you blend. Customer Service replaces if you have problems.

I need to know if it purees well. Basically, does it give good texture to the pureed food, or does it just mix and mash?

I don't know why this doesn't have higher ratings.

We bought this @ our local Walmart last Sat. It's a tough decision which to buy with so many offered, in gr8 colors, + different features.

This was purchased for making my protein shakes. We had the little Hamilton Beach One Serving for yrs. It was ok but didn't hold enough + didn't completely dissolve the protein powder + left little clumps of ice.

This thing is AMAZING!! Wish we would have had one like it in our Party Days of fancy blended drinks. Broke a few blenders doing that.

This thing does everything to perfection. I can even make enough servings to last a day + store it in the fridg.
It's got a lot of power. I know others questioned the wattage of it but I think it IS 550 watts + does the job of one. It's very heavy duty. (Love the glass jar too).

In conclusion, I need to add that this thing actually has a cleaning button + it works well.

Best Blender We've Had

Let's start by pointing out that the design of this blender is so modern and nice looking...I have the silver color and it blends so nice with my other kitchen appliances...the bottom is not heavy at all...It's not exactly chrome...seems more like plastic but trust me it looks really nice...The jar is heavy...since it is a 6 cup glass...The design of this blender is tall too...not wide at all which is a plus for people that have quite a few appliances on their countertop....I first used the blender to make a smoothie...and it's very powerful...within seconds the smoothie was done....I also made a avocado dip...and I had no problems with anything getting stuck in the bottom of the jar...like the cilantro would in my old blender...I'm very happy with this blender :)

Powerful Blender!

I have never owned a blender before so I really didn't know what to expect. The blender portion itself is glass which I was glad to see. I thought it was going to be plastic. This particular one also works with the individual portion cup. I did not know what this is. But apparently it is a cup so you can easily make to go single portions without using the big main glass blender part. It came with instructions that I found hard to understand. There was a quick start guide which gave you orders in which to add various ingredients at which times to get better results. Like liquid soft fruit then ice.....so I used this instead of the main instructions. I obviously washed it before using. For my first try I used milk, one while banana, and three while strawberries. I only used the blend button. And you can see results in picture. It absolutely chopped everything up effortlessly. I have not used ice in it yet but I really do not see myself using it for that reason and did not want to take chance of damaging it. So I can not say if it would do a good job for that or not. I did use it again to make some milk shakes. I added milk then ice cream. The first time it didn't seem to blend it very well which was surpising to me. I opened the lid and stored and could it was pretty thick so added more milk and then it did fine. We had tasty milk shakes that night. I hope to find more receipe such as salsa to continue seeing how well I like the blender. I hope this helps.

This is a decent, mid-range blender. It has a large jar to blend family sized quantities at once. You can buy an additional personal sized blending jar that works with the same base, but it does not come with this unit. There are 12 settings for various needs, plus pulse. We used it to make ice cream shakes. The blender worked well and made smooth shakes. However, it didn't blend in cookie bits quite as smooth and evenly, however perhaps if I had blended them longer or pre crushed them a bit it would have worked better. The base is silver and black plastic, which looks very nice. However, I do wonder how long this plastic will hold up to regular use. The glass blending jar seems very sturdy. The bottom and the blades separate for easy cleaning. The jar is bottom rack dishwasher safe and the blades and jar bottom are top-rack only. The motor base should be wiped clean only and not submerged in water, as with any electrical appliance. The cord wraps neatly into a specially designed circle under the base. The fold out instructions give directions on which settings to use for which purposes. The fold out also includes two recipes, one for blue cheese dressing and one for salsa. I am looking forward to making more things with this blender and hope it holds up. My next planned use is to make homemade pesto sauce this week. I am hoping the blender will work for this, too.

Good simple blender.

I was very excited to receive to see that there is a cleaning feature. The first setting that I used was the crumb. I used it for vanilla wafers for the bottom of a dessert. It worker great! The next setting that I used was chop feature and I chopped up frozen cranberries. Once again it worked great! Both settings worked so much better than my old blender. Then I decide to try the whip feature. It did not work as well as I had hoped. For the whipped cream I was trying to make, the bottom continued to be more in a liquid form. So kept whipping and it did not work out well at all. The whip feature did appear to be working. It might be better with other things besides whipped cream. My favorite feature was the cleaning. That worked fantastic! Not only did it clean the cookies and whipped cream right up, but the Black and Decker Fusion Blender cleaned up the mess that the cranberries made with great ease! I was extremely pleased for the very easy clean up. I would recommend uy this blender.

Black and Decker Blender

The Black and Decker 12 speed Fusion Blade Blender is a very nice addition to my kitchen. I originally got it as a back-up for my Osterizer, which I have had for many years and with which I am completely pleased, but once I looked at and got the feel of the Black and Decker, I decided to use it instead and put the other as a back-up. As I stated earlier, I have had the Oster for many years and have no problems with it, but it could just stop working at any time because of its age. The Black and Decker is so shiny and professional looking, and all stainless or chrome base, "whichever" goes with anything and everything in my kitchen. The Black And Decker runs so smooth and is great for most all blending jobs. It crushes ice like nobody's business. It gets everything I need done and looks really great in my kitchen. It is very heavy, but that, to me, is indicative of a long life.

I've had this blender for 5 months. It gets occasional use for pretty light-duty blending and has only ever been washed by hand. I wouldn't say its a powerhouse of a blender but it's compact and it looks good and it does exactly what I need it to - except that the jar base has broken, causing it to leak and making it unusable. From the reviews I've read this seems to be a common problem for a fair number of Black and Decker customers. How is this issue being addressed? Is there a way I can find a replacement jar base? I'd like to be able to keep using this blender, or at least be able to keep buying Black and Decker products in good faith.

How do I find replacement parts?

I used this blender a few times before the base broke. I have seen by looking at the reviews that it is not good to wash this in the washer. The blender has never been anything but hand washed and then the plastic blender base cracked and now it leaks so bad I can't use it. Follow the previous reviews and stay away from this blender or you will be buying spare parts.
