I have a 75O lumen halogen bulb in mine and can read fine.

Yes. I believe it is more of an accent/conversation piece than being practical.

I would say this is an accent lamp, not really designed for reading. I would buy a larger lamp made for reading.

Mine isn&#39;t either. It seems to be for a night your sitting and reading a book and want a little light for it. It&#39;s a decent amount not meant to light up a room. But you can tell from pictures that it&#39;s not a lamp for that purpose.

I also find that it is not enough light, I love the design and am replacing a 150 desk lamp with it.  This is more of an accent lamp.   I cannot tell if the previous response meant 75 lumens or 750 lumens.

The table lamp is not bright at all. Is this how it is supposed to be?

Hi Charlotte, the base to the top of the lamp shade is 17 1/4 inches. This lamp has a finial which brings the total height of the lamp to 19 inches. We hope this helps!

THE LAMP ACTUALLY HAS MORE OF A TAUPE COLOR TO IT THEN GRAY BUT IT MATCHES THE LAMP SHADE WELL. I WANTED SOMETHING MY CATS COULD NOT KNOCK OVER EASILY AND THIS IS IT. IT IS NOT AS HEAVY AS I HAD HOPED BUT IT IS HEAVIER THEN THE CHEAP TABLE LAMPS I WAS BUYING. IT DOES NOT FIT A REGULAR SIZE LIGHT BULB WHICH WAS DISAPPOINTING. THE SHADE COMES DOWN REALLY FAR SO YOU DON'T GET A LOT OF LIGHT IF YOU WANTED TO READ A BOOK FROM IT. I WANTED IT JUST TO GIVE SOME LIGHT TO ROOM SO I DON'T BUMP INTO THINGS AND IT IS GOOD FOR THAT. EVERYTHING WAS IN PERFECT SHAPE AND I AM GOING TO ORDER ANOTHER ONE.

Better Homes %26 Garden Elephant Lamp

I purchased my first elephant lamp in the , store , every time I went down that isle it was still there and I said I'm going to just go ahead and get my lamp while it's still here.I took it home and just loved it!! I decorated my living room around it, but the more I decorated and set up my living room , I decided I simply  needed another one., so I ordered it  , great addition to my decor. I love them!

Absolutely LOVE the look of this lamp.  Looks very high end.  Been looking for an inexpensive but stylish lamp for months and was so happy to find this one.  Only reason why I gave it four stars is because it was hard to find one that didn't have imperfections in the store.  First bought one and didn't notice shade had irregularities until I plugged it in.  Then it was very obvious.  Returned and got another one that also has slight imperfection but it is on the back so you don't see it.  Looks perfect in my home.

I love these lamps. I bought one at the store and one online. DON'T buy these online. Mine came thrown into a box with some paper, completely broken everywhere. Also, regular lightbulbs will not fit in these...the harps are too short. I bought taller ones rather than guessing at new light bulb heights :)

Light bulbs too big and don't order online!

The box looked like it had been mauled.  The finial was lying loose in the bottom of the box.  The prongs had not been attached and I'm not sure I can attach them.  All in all, a terrible item.

The left front leg had two large broken pieces. One chunk was in packing material. The other large piece was not in box!  Makes me think it was packed broken. Sloppy. The lamp is unique but not for broken parts. The second photo is the largest piece glued on

I got it as a gift for my mom and she turned it on and now can't turn it off. Have to go return it now which is not something I want to do after Christmas.
