Cute little jars

I had ordered several boxes of jars from Walmart for shipping due to another grocery chain failing to deliver my scheduled order.

The jars arrived faster than estimated at checkout, which is great. They were also well protected with carefully placed paper dunnage, keeping all three boxes within the shipping carton safe.

This size jar arrived in perfect condition but the pint jars are not package by ball with the dividers, so those rubbed together and scuffed.

These half pint jars are packed with corrugated cardboard between each so they can not rub together during shipping, so these arrived in perfect condition; the same is not true for larger sizes. I had two boxes of smooth regular mouth pint jars and everyone has multiple scratches because Ball does not package that size with dividers to protect them from friction during shipping (which is a problem even if you buy in store: they have to be shipped to get there!).

Basically, these are just what I needed and expected but I am very unhappy that Ball doesn't bother boxing all their jar sizes with the same level of care as these...I don't know if it is even safe to process the scratched jars, which is why I am including this information within the review for this size as I assume most people who can also use more than one size of jar.

I hadn't bought mason jars in a very long time, I thought they all were packaged in the manner these are (so they arrive in mint condition). 

The photos show both the quilted crystal half pints (this item) as well as the damaged smooth standard pints.

Perfect! Beware of the larger jars

These were perfect for pickling vegetables for my garden to share with senior friends and neighbors.  The right size the right shape and the right seal.

This was a good buy the right price right time.

Some areas of the jars were thicker than others and those jars busted in my pressure canner, which was a loss for both the jar and product I was canning. This happens too often as well the lids. Some lids seal just fine and never unseal until I open it and others just don't seal. Things aren't made the way they used to be.

Jars are good, some weren't molded correctly.

Value

Spark driver, delivered to the wrong house, replacement order was thrown onto the concrete in front of my door by the next delivery driver, breaking several jars.
