Hi jjm, no this unit does not create steam. It uses hot water extraction to clean carpet and upholstery.

It uses hot water you put into the machine.  It does have a heating element to keep it hot but it's not enough to turn cold water hot. It uses pulsed hot water to loosen and draw out dirt.

Can you use any type of spot cleaning liquid product?

Great question. This unit does not have a water heater in it so we do recommend using hot tap water. You do not want to use boiling or microwaved water.

It isn't perfect, I find the hose being a bit short frequently, and I wish the capacity was larger. But for the price, I'm very satisfied with my product. It pulled up 23 year old dirt stains from my 2000 Pontiac firebird's carpet after a decent number of passes. Very clean seats and carpet makes for a very good review! #sweepstakes

Ive been using the spot pro to clean interior of cars, cloth seats/carpets. Its been really good so far combined with professional chemicals and a drill brush it does wonders on the first pass. I have no bad thoughts about although i would want the hose to not feel "fragile" but its been holding up great just got to watch how much your twisting the actual nozzle where it connects. #sweepstakes

First saw this machine on the Detail Geek YouTube channel. Really impressed by the suction power of such a small machine. And the fact that a professional detailed can use it for his business. Very versatile machine that can be used inside and outside the home.

Lots of power in a small machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This year I inherited a 22 year old work truck from my FIL that had seen better days... The dirt was ground into the seats and the carpets terribly and frankly had a smell. I used this machine to clean those seats and it worked fantastic. I have been telling everyone that this is the machine to get. Picture speaks for itself.

Huge Workhorse in a Small Package

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This machine works very well. When I first set up this machine, I did the hand-suction test and thought I was going to be disappointed because the suction did not feel strong at all, like my regular vacuum. I was wrong. The suction, surprising, is sufficient and picks up dirty water easily. Also, the harder you push into the carpet, the deeper the suction goes so obviously the more water it gets up. I bought this machine mainly for my stairs because that's the only carpet I have in my home that needed cleaning, and the size was perfect to sit on one stair while working on another stair and work my way down. I took my time with it and it took 4 hours to do my entire staircase but the results were amazing and look beautiful. I put towels down for 2days after cleaning them just so that dirt or debris didn't get onto the damp carpet surface with my kid and husband up and down the stairs, but I don't think it's necessary if you don't have heavy traffic like I do. Also, I used this for my tile. How?? I scrubbed my tiles and grout by hand with a scrub brush (adapter that attaches onto my drill) and then used this machine by using the water sprayer for rinsing and then sucking it up. The machine doubles as a wetvac for smaller areas, which is perfect for hand-scrubbing tile jobs. A few pointers when using: 1. use only with the solutions they suggest. 2. read the instructions before using. 3. if doing a large area, have a bucket near you to dump the spoiled water take into instead of having to go back and forth to the sink. 4. dump both the spoiled water and clean water tank when done using. I filled a container with hot water and sucked up the hot clean water just to rinse the hose after I was done using. 5. dry the machine with a paper towel when putting it away. I store it in the same box it was delivered in, just to keep it out of the way. Instead of paying $200 to have my floors cleaned, I bought this and can use it on my headboard, microfiber sectional, cars!!

Was a skeptic but very happy I purchased this!

Very convenient to empty the dirty water and fill cleaner and water mix in the other tank. You have to fill hot water in it. I wish there was some heating feature or steam to better / more quickly clean the carpet spots. I have to put some effort into scrubbing the brush back n forth to clean certain spots. But still overall it's pretty good.

After about 16 passes on one particular pillow I'm still amazed that it is pulling out smoke and dirt. Works really well. I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 because I don't like that the hose isn't easily detachable for cleaning.

Overall is a good product the was good and productive  But the vacuum hose need more length and need  more attachments  but overall is a good vacuum for personal floor cleaner or car detailing
