I had thought about buying emergency food for several years and when I saw this on sale at Sam's Club I could not pass it up. I am very happy with the product. Packaging is great and I love knowing it is there if ever needed. I am in Florida and Hurricanes can cause a lot of issues. My father who is 97 lives with us and is a real comfort knowing we can eat if we have an extended power outage.

Brings peace of mind.

I bought 3 of these as an emergency food backup for my family.  I like the variety and the packaging will keep them stored safely for many years.  These were a good price and value compared to other emergency food storage buckets on the market.

I have not opened it, but it will be there when needed. I am writing this review
because I made the mistake of not carefully reading ingredients, as a vegetarian I thought I could eat some of the meals.  There is rendered chicken fat (look up the meaning) in at least 5 different entrees, including the mashed potatoes. I was pretty surprised, but I know it is for emergency
and 98% of my family won't care but just wanted to share that information.

Questionable Ingredient.

I bought the product in preparation for an extended hiking trip. I found the packaging (mostly eight servings per pouch) to be too large. I've had to break each pouch into two serving portions to make it useable for hiking.

The selection of menu items is somewhat limited but adequate.

Would like to see the same product but in smaller portions. Only somewhat recommended for individual hiking/camping but depends on the size of the group.

Haven't tried the food but the pics look tasty :)  One concern is that the advertisement says up to 30 year shelf life but closer examination reveals some of the foods only are good up to 10 years. All said 10 years is a long time. I once heard an experienced outdoors person say "Your survival food needs to be something you wouldn't eat except in a survival situation."  Well again the advertisement says this stuff so good you won't want to wait". If true you better buy some back up for your back up food.

Maybe best for near term emergency than long term

This was a very good deal, I bought two of them.  They are sufficient for two people (or possibly three small eaters) and the food is good. You will have to find a place to put them, they are large and heavy.

Doesn't come in a protective box. They just slap the shipping label on it and its thrown around a truck until it arrives and everyone knows where to come for food when there is none. No idea what this thing has been through, but I'm not going to put it with the rest of my food until it's been cleaned.
