Great Rice Cooker A friend of mine purchased this for me last week, and it was the first time I have ever owned a rice cooker, and I cooked a cabbage casserole in it this past weekend, and it turned out amazing, rice was perfect, and everything just worked great! Good value for money. Recently purchased this unit via Site-to-Store. The processing and delivery to store was fast but the unit has slight defects due to mishandling. The unit arrived with a hole on the side of the box and when I opened it, the unit was a bit deformed and it would not stand firmly on a level surface. I returned them to the store and they refunded my money without question. I reordered online and the unit arrived in only 3 days. This time it was damaged free. Tried it with white rice and it cooked perfect in about 30 mins(depending on the amount of rice cooked). Tried to leave it in the keep warm setting but after four hours, I observed a slight burning of the rice at the bottom. Also tried steaming sweet potato and it took about 25 mins from the time it starts steaming to make perfect (soft but not soggy) sweet potatoes. The sweet potato left a yellowish discoloration on the plastic steamer though, but I could live with it. For broccoli, the timetable in the manual is longer than it takes to steam the vegetable. I followed the recommended time in the manual and the broccoli came out very soft and not fresh looking. I'm pretty much satisfied with my purchase and would highly recommend it. I didn't rate the durability yet as I just got the unit. It looks solidly built though except for the plastic steaming bucket which looks fragile and may easily break if not handled with care. Fantastic at cooking white rice! I am in LOVE with this rice cooker! It was very affordable and has yet to disappoint me. It makes my white rice perfect EVERY time! I use medium grain white rice and rinse it before cooking.I have yet to try cooking brown rice or to use the steamer option.I love that I can delay the start, so I'll usually let the rice soak for a bit in the water before cooking to make it even better.The lid has a fantastic design to catch moisture when you open it, so water doesn't pour into the rice or onto the counter.VERY happy with this product! 08/31/2011
Best Rice Cooker I owned! I have owned 2 rice cookers in the past and just previously i purchased another stainless brand but lasted for only a year. This cooks rice perfectly and with no mess at all. At such a reasonable price, I couldn't ask for more! 06/16/2011
