I guess it could. Do you mean as a holder until you are ready to wash them? I don't see why not.

It is intended to snap and close the bag for disposal, but since the diapers are collected loosely, as opposed to twisted into links with the Diaper Genie, I don't think you would have any trouble with that. I would guess that you could reuse the bag a few times, too.

I suppose it could but with the difficulty of having to actually push the diapers down into the pail with your hand I wouldn't recommend it.

I don't see why not. The tops of the bags snap open and shut so it could be transported to the laundry room without leaving a trail of stench throughout the house!

I would not think so. You have to push the diaper through a fairly small opening.

Yes, all it does is hold the diapers, so if you mean to hold it until you wash it then yes, it will hold them.. you will smell the dirty diapers though, this pail is terrible!

I'm sure it could. I assume you are wanting to hold them in the nags until washing? I'd do it if I used cloth diapers. Put them into the bag, and since it can snap shut and still reopen you could put them into the washer and just toss the used bag. Or if you're a "Penny Saver" I'm sure you could rinse the bag out, let it dry, and use it 2 or 3 times.

It could be used for cloth diapers because the bags snap shut and they can be reopened very easily.

Wouldn't recommend it for cloth diapers since to fish them out of the those diaper pail liners is hard and you can probably not see where your hand is going.

Not really, but you can always try. The opening of the bag itself is big enough for hour hand to fit into so it may work.

I don't really think so. It is designed to snap the liner shut and toss it in the trash. You would have no soaking abilities. I guess, though, you could open the liner and dump it directly into your washer.

Around 50. It really holds a lot of newborn diapers. Obviously as they get older and the diapers get bigger it holds less.

well so far i have 30 newborn in a bag and not full yet

I can fit about 15 size 4 diapers in mine, so I imagine it would hold maybe up to 30 NB diapers

I use nimber 3 diapers and I fit a least 30 in my bag. I do wrap them tight but I'm sure you could get a least that many if they were newborn.

About 20 I would say.. it gets much less with bigger sizes, probably about 10-12 of size 3

the box says that each bag will hold 25 diapers. However, with my newborn i changed bags about once a week or so. (however many that is)

I am not sure. I have an 18 month old who goes to school 3 times a week. We have to change the bag about every 6 days.

Yes, but it's not worth it. I ran out of the snap bags last week and tried that... Big Disaster. The bag is not secured into the pail, so it pulls into the pail when a diaper is inserted. You can do it, but it takes up time resetting the bag each time you throw away a diaper... The bags are well worth buying.

No...there is a twisting mechanism designed to trap the odor inside the bag. Regular bags would not fit nor would they be any more effective than using a regular trash can.

you may be able to use other bags it might not work quite as well but it probably could be done. I also found some liners on ebay a little bit cheeper if that helps you.

Sort of. It doesn't work as well with the twisting motion of the lid and it doesn't block out the smell.

You could probably rig something up, but you would lose the smell-keeping-in benefit of the pail. You can buy a 3 pack of liners on amazon.com (and I think walmart.com, too) pretty inexpensively. One liner lasts us almost 1 week.

but it takes a good 20-24 size 3 diapers before its full. and honestly, if you wanted too, you could empty the munchkin bag into a regular garbage bag and reuse it. but odor control is really, really good.

no, you can't. you have to use the re-fills. It will not hold the garbage bags.

i wouldn't. i would buy the bags for it. some people say that you can use the plastic grocery bags in it, and others say you can't. i don't know because i purchased this as a gift.

I bought this to hold used depend undergarments after changes. The unit really seals odors in well, keeping my bathroom smelling fresh and clean. Clean-up is a breeze, and changing the bag is super easy. The odor-blocking baking soda dispenser on the top door is easily refillable, no new cartridges to buy. It takes up very little space, about that of a small bath trash bucket. It is tall, however to hold a volume of used diapers and wipes. Well worth the price!

I rescued a kitten recently ,the cat box is new to me and the odor unbelievable. I tried cleaning two times a day using tiny garbage bags which worked if you plan to carry the bag outside to the dumpster twice a day. I put them in the garbage pail and got a stinky surprise.
I thought I would try a diaper pail and went to my local Walmart , I chose the Arm & Hammer - Diaper Pail by Munchkin. I have to use a napkin on top ,fill it ,fold it over and then push threw the hole, but It works so well. There is absolutely no smell when I open the lid the next time . The baking soda dispenser is refillable which means cost savings to me.
I full recommend this product to pet owners , It is a very useful tool in more than just one way

Not just for diapers anymore

This actually exceeds my expectations! The diaper pail automatically twists the bag closed and sprinkles baking soda when you shut the lid, so no odors escape! And it does it without batteries or cords. I just love this system. Our nursery is pretty small and usually any amount of odor is REALLY noticeable, but with this, we dont smell anything! The bag refills are really decently priced and you can refill the baking soda yourself. This is a great product.

I have always loved all Arm & Hammer products so naturally when I saw this diaper pail I jumped right on it, and I am glad that I did. It dispenses baking soda with every diaper you put in so it always stays fresh. I thought it was tiny at first, but it holds a lot of diapers.
