Good starter tank! This 10gal tank is very nice and sturdy. It comes with a lid (lights included) and a filter. I like how the lid has a cut-out for the filter so you can put it in easy. I rate this 4 stars nto 5 because one of the hinges did not fit right but i fixed it and it looks b-e-a-utiful! Here are sum pics, hope they help! XD

I love this tank. Meets expectations, and the price is sooo affordable. I priced this size of tank with pretty much the same system and they were $40-$50. I have five female bettas in them, and the filter works great because you can control the water flow. I actually own two other aqua culture tanks, the same ones but the 5 gallon. I'm satisfied with my purchase.

I would recommend this tank as a good starter. The only problem I have had is with the lid not fitting properly, other than that it's been good. You might have to look into a litle better filter depending on the fish you have though.

I picked this tank up a few days ago for my new hobby. I had never had an aquarium before and this was a great start as it came with the filter and lid with light. The food and water sanitizer it comes with also was a great touch. I only had to buy the heater, decor, and fish. The filter is very quiet and not even noticeable.

Wow!! I found this back in stock after getting the 5gal for $28 & this was only $2 more(right??!! Doesn't make sense) & you get 2x the size. So I brought the 5gal back for this 10. I love the whole kit, has everything I need to set up. Filter is quiet & keeps my tank sparkling clean. I have 2 moors, 1 fantail & 2 comet goldfish & they are loving their new home! I've had all the fish about 1-3 weeks (bought them at different times) & bought this tank 06/13/2011 & have no problems! The blue green gravel that Walmart has are wonderful at the bottom of my tank as they showcase & compliment my goldfish colors!!! Try this tank, great for starters & have fun! PS: I know you're supposed to have min 29gal tank for these many goldfish that I have but will do that upgrade when they get bigger otherwise this size is fine for 3 goldfish.

Am purchasing this item and need to know if it comes with a thermometer/temp gauge or whether I need to get one? thanks

    • A. No, it doesn't come with a thermometer. You might consider getting a thermometer depending on which species you intend to keep and how you maintain the temperature of your home. Hardy tropical species will be able to survive in room temperature water in most homes, but some more sensitive species might get too cold if you like to keep your home cool. In this case, you'd also need to purchase a tank heater, which this kit does not come with. Here is an inexpensive thermometer Walmart sells: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Aqua-Culture-Digital-Aquarium-Thermometer-1-ct/10536143

    • A. The tank does not come with a thermometer, but you can purchase one for about $3 at Walmart. It also does not come with a heater.

    • A. It does not come with a thermometer (or a heater). You only need a thermometer if you plan on a tropical tank, and if you want a tropical tank you'll have to buy a heater, too.

    • A. It does not, and whether or not you need one depends on the type of fish your interested in. Goldfish wont need one, as they are happier in colder temps. Tropical fish definitely need one as most favor temps in the range of 72-82 Degrees. Be sure to research the fish you want before hand so you know exactly what conditions they like.

    • A. This filter is for 5-15 gallons. In my experience, it is just adequate for a 10 gallon tank, if you don't overstock your tank or overfeed your pets. I would not use this for a 20 gallon tank. You could potentially get two and use them, but I would go with a filter that is rated for 20+ gallons.

    • A. you could, but it would be about half as effective as one designed for a 20 gallon. There is no real reason to underfilter a tank. An exception to this is if you have fish who would be bothered by a larger filters increased flow rate, then you might be served better with the lower flow filter.

    • A. It depends on the filters GPH (Gallons per hour). For convenient filter selection, filters are rated for a particular aquarium size, based on a light-to-average fish load, and have a gallon-per-hour (gph) rating. The gph rating determines how many gallons of aquarium water pass through the filter per hour. In general, the filter should turn over the total water volume at least three to five times an hour. For example, a 20-gallon aquarium should be equipped with a filter rated at least 60-100 gph. • A. If it's does not say something like 10-30 filter or have anywhere on there that I can be used with a 20 I would say No!! Do Not use this filter on a 20g tank you can never over filter a tank, If you put this filter on to that 20g tank the fish would die quickly and the tank would be cloudy all the time. So unless it says it's for a 20g tank don't use it for it.

    • A. You can only use the 10 and this is why. The 20 gal filter will create to much current in your tank therefore making it hard for fish to swin they get stressed and die. So stick with the 10
