I can use it to store practically anything. I also like that it has undecorated surfaces so that I can add my own touches to it down to road of I so choose.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love, love, love these jars!  Called “cracker” jars; but, beautifully holds most any pantry items.  I have a variety of storage jars but these are my favorite now.  The wide mouth and screw top are very convenient and easy to use.  I'm using the gallon size to hold 3 pounds of rice.  I have a two quart holding dried potatoes.  I intend to buy more as needed.

Perfect size!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Anchor Hocking 1 Gallon Glass Cracker Jar with Lid and it is so convenient and it holds all of my kitchen items. I like the lid seals tightly around the jar and it keeps my food items fresh and crisp. The jar is extra large so it holds more items. I like that it is glass so I can see what is stored inside easily. It is a must have!

Glass storage

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jar definitely brings me back to my penny candy days. Well, it wasn't quite a penny—more like dime and nickel candy, but certainly a lot cheaper than today. The jar is gallon sized with a brushed metal screw-on cover. The glass is thick and the jar itself has some weight to it. The square shape with a simple design on the sides and corners makes it easy to fit several on a shelf or in cupboards. The glass is not perfect. Mine has a few imperfections—a small bubble and an odd faint line of scratches on one side as if it had brushed up against another jar. It could just be a fluke. It's still nice enough quality for the price and nothing you would notice unless you looked very closely.  The top opening is about four and a half inches which is wide enough for even a large hand like mine to get in and out of easily. That's especially important with a square jar because when it comes time to clean it, you need to be able to get down into the corners.  So what could you use it for?  It could hold baking supplies like flour or sugar or snacks like cookies, chips, crackers or granola. A group of these jars would be beautiful on a counter or pantry. The sides even have a square framed out of the glass so it looks as if they were made for attaching  easy to read labels you could make on your computer. The only thing I don't like about the jar is the lid.  It appears too thin when sitting atop the jar—like you should be able to twist it down further. A deeper, more robust cover would have looked better.

Penny candy memories

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This huge glass container with lid is perfect for so many things and reasons! It has thick glass and the lid fits nicely. It would make a great snack container and you would always know when you needed a refill! It could also be used for other things to store not just food like what I'm using it for as a place to put my cookie cutters!

These jars were delivered without any packaging...period...nothing....no bag...no nox...naked....butt naked.....never seen that before...

Bare naked

Jars were a nice size and a good price.  Lids are thin.  A couple of them were slightly dented.  Not happy with the way they were packaged for shipping.  All 4 jars were loose in a big plastic bag.  That's all.  No bubblecwrap. Plastic or any kind of packing to protect them. You could hear them banging against each other when I picked up the bag.  I think the only thing that helped was a careful delivery person.  Very surprised there weren't any cracks or chips.

Nice jars.  Poor packaging.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was looking forward to starting a collection of these glass jars. I took the lid off of the gallon jar and cut my finger on a cracked edge. I thought it was only a small cut, but it ended up getting a glass splinter in it. The crack shows it was uneven. I can't take a chance now in putting anything edible in the jar.

Not good for edibles.
