You can buy just about every blood test device with no prescription. But if you have insurance and wish to be reimbursed then you probably need a prescription.

No. Anyone can by it. It is only availble at Walmart. This is a great item for anyone that wants a second or third meter to perhaps supplement for their main meter for travel, office, school, upstairs, etc. or for infrequent testing.

You cannot buy more strips. It has 50 strips to use then you throw it away. I was told it does not work after using 50 strips anyway.

Does this product come with the lancets to get the blood to be tested?

Yes you still need a lancing device and alcohol wippes. I use a small makeup pouch. But the cost of test strips for other meters is more than buying the sidekick with 50 strips.

The pouch that comes with the product has enough room to also accommodate a few lancets, a lancing device and a few alcohol swabs. (But its better to wash with soap and water than to use an alcohol swab, which dries the skin...)

Drawing the blood & testing the blood are considered 2 steps; so they just don't mention lancets. Many small lancet devices will carry several lancets, & many without insurance re-use them despite added pain. Accu-Chek offers a 10-pack circular vial of lancets; I don't like them, but they are easy to carry. As for alcohol, just use the waterless hand cleanser you can carry or find almost anywhere these days to save space and money. I doubt I would use this. But it sure makes it clear that we are way over-paying for meters!

Originally purchased this in store several months ago. Went to repurchase, and the store was out of product, so I searched for it online and ordered it. This was my 5th reorder, and encouraged a friend with out healthcare coverage to try them. VERY SATISFIED WITH PRODUCT!

I like this product a lot. It is inexpensive compact convenient and has a generous amount of test strips. I like the fact that is does not require coding as well. The only drawback I find is that it is not always readily available at Walmart when I go to get another. I was told by the pharmacist that the local rescue squads are always buying them out which is why I had to order online this time.

This is a great all-in-One glucose testing system with 50 test strips for anyone who is on a budget!! Where else can you get a compact meter and 50 test strips for 19.99!!!! The meter is on top of the test strip box which is small and very accurate!!. You will have to pay a lot more for 50 test strips without the meter!!! Try this system at WalMart and you will not be disappointed!!!

excellent Glucose Testing System

I love this blood meter. It doesn't come with lance but everything else is there all small and compact.
It is great for my purse I have sugar drops so it is good that I can check anytime and do what I Ned to do. I was so disappointed the walmart quit carrying it in the store. I have bought it in the store many times and used it there when I was feeling sick. This meter fits in very small place

I really recomended to friends and family price and product.
I had been looking for something we could afort, because even with insurance its very expencive
and with this product we don't even have to use the insurance.

Have used this meter system for years. Truly smallest on the market and it all fits in the little Velcro bag that comes with it, even with the addition of a lancing device and handful of lancets. Very convenient and low priced, too. Good value.

Handy to carry, easy to use

Great way to get glucose test strips easily and cheap. I already have the tester and lancets but the test strips for my meter are about 4 times more expensive. This is a great idea and does the trick!

This system was a cost effective solution for me. It cost less to use than just buying strips for the one I got from the doctor.The system is very fast and appears to be accurate. The only minus is that it does not keep track of previous readings, so grab a small tablet and keep your own documentation.
