I looked on Air Wicks website because I wanted to know the same thing and it said you can't use other oils, they haven't tested them with the product. So it looks like only Air Wicks are approved with this product.

Yes, I saw a You Tube video showing a person popping off the wick and refilling it with their own essential oils and demonstrated it working after refilling it.  One of the comments was that the wick will need to be replaced when it turns brown.  One can get personal sized humidifier wicks from walmart.com and cut them to size.

Can you use any essential oil and refill the container or do you have to use the Air wick refill only oils?

This product smells amazing but I would NOT purchase if I were you. It takes 3 double AA batteries which only last 3-5 days before you have to change them out again. I can't believe it. It's to expensive to maintain and use!!
