No, the tablet is not compatible with an external disk drive.

Unfortunately, A external disk drive will not work with the tablet.

The USB ports are under powered - However, if you get a powered USB hub (has a small 5V wall power supply that plugs into the wall) this ran my external 1TB portable drive and an external CD/DVD writer (did not try writing, only reading of a DVD).

Will it work If I connected an external disc drive?

It seems that the connection is magnetized in addition to having the usual connection port, so it snaps in very easily and has attachments that keep it steady and firmly attached as you can see in the display picture that Walmart has on the listing. I&#39;d highly recommend it.

when i first opened the box i was like wow. love how the tabllet just slides into the keyboard. has a laptop feel which i love and it plays facebook games really well. i would definately recommend this

The unit is easily fast enough for web surfing, movie watching, skyping etc. It's great for travelling with and now I can leave my 15 inch laptop at home. The construction is quite solid especially where the tablet connects to the keyboard and it's properly weighted to not fall over when open, though it only opens so far. I did have to do a couple of Windows 10 upgrades and only after completing that process could I download Google Chrome. The only criticism I would make is that the touchpad and mouse is fairly fidgety and so I find myself using the touch screen quite often. However, the keyboard itself has a good solid feel, especially when considering the 10 inch size of this device. If this unit was priced like an Asus Transformer then I would give it 4 stars but at $228 Canadian it's a 5 star.

I ordered this for myself and have put it to very good use. I really like the detachable keyboard. It was convenient to order on-line and pick-up using the lockers at my local Walmart.
