Beautiful piece of furniture, well made and very attractive.

I've been wanting to find a small enough shelf for my husband's books in the bathroom since they seem to clutter on the back of the commode piling high and eventually falling over or on the floor in the way. This corner shelf can be put against the wall on one side and still be facing someone if you don't have an available corner or even want it in the corner. A great color and all real wood. Easy to put together but don't lift it by the top since it's meant to be taken apart and collapsed for storage. Otherwise, it seems rather sturdy. It's not all that tall so it doesn't over power the wall or room. The sides have bars, instead of being closed in solid, so they visually add roominess. I hope the added photo helps give someone a better idea for what they may or may not want from this shelf. My husband has pronounced it 'perfect'. (was a Christmas gift) Probably won't work well to hold magazines.

Great little shelf for the bathroom or small area

Already 90 percent assembled, if that is a concern.  Using it as a corner unit without the top shelf, put a plant on - works perfect.  Nice material/finish as bought, but also for me was easy to lightly sand the manufacturer's finish from, so I could paint differently.  Which was my intent when bought  - nothing wrong with finish as sold.

It's a classic; just enough to fill blank space

I was a bit skeptical but due to other good reviews (and a great sale) I went ahead and ordered two of these bookcases.  The only available option was the honey oak but two cans of black satin spray paint later they looked great!  They really are well made and seem quite sturdy and I got them for half price + 25% off.  I am a happy camper!

This shelving unit suits the purpose I had in mind but I think perhaps it's too small to actually use as a 'bookcase'. I was thrilled to find that I didn't have to assemble it. Though for my unit, the snap on top shelf just unsnaped right back off. I just glued it on instead. Hopefully other people have better luck. The wood stain was sporadic and sloppy. How well that shows would depend on where it's located and how far away it is from the critical eye. I personally had planned to stain mine a darker color anyway so I didn't care but I think folks should know that part was not well done. I wasn't thrilled that the shelf rest hinges are right in the front in plain sight, but overall it's an attractive piece, sturdy, and considering the price, I wouldn't have expected more. Overall, I'm quite pleased. Functionally, it is what I hoped it would be and I like it.

Good value for the price

Beautiful second class furniture. Not first class, because that is luxury class. Folds clever. I actually gave this away though, because it is too small for anything other than curio. I wanted to store drinks on it. I do not mind losing my money on this - because it was so well made.

no summary

I've bought a number of these bookcases over the years, usually from bricks and mortar stores.  Now that I've set them up, these bookcases will likely serve their intended purpose and not collapse under the weight of books or anything like that.  Still, I have to say that they are inferior in quality to the others I own: the wooden side supports are thinner; the construction is flimsier and the finish is so light (I'm not referring to the color here, which is fine) as to make them almost indistinguishable from unfinished wood.  So, I'm satisfied with the purchase, but a little disappointed by the quality of these bookcases.

A Little Disappointing

I purchased this one because it had a top shelf but it will not stay on. It will not fit into the black plastic pieces on the top. When I have tried, the shelf just flips off onto the floor. (watch your feet) It seems unstable with the top shelf anyway and I'll keep it without attaching the shelf. I won't return. I'll get use out of it and place paper back books on it. Would not buy again however.

This 4 tier corner folding bookcase is not as tall as I expected and the value of it was not worth it either. It also has very little space. Can't put much on the shelves depends on what you are using it for. I kept it because I did not want to go through the hassle of shipping it back to the manufacturer. It would have been costly. Can not send it back to Wal-mart.

Not What I Expected.......

I ordered this shelf on accident. I wanted a different one that was shown along side the one I received. I immediately called customer service and asked them to please change the order. The call was placed within 30 minutes. They proceeded to tell me that they could not help me and to call back in about 30 minutes. I did so and was given another run around and told I would have to take the order and then return it. I asked if there would be a charge for that (shipping, etc). They said yes. 
This was really unacceptable as I contacted them right away asking for them to please just change the shelf order. I checked online and it had NOT been processed or shipped yet. 
Then it came NOT put together. I specifically ordered from this company because it said NO ASSEMBLY. 
I will not order from LAKESIDE again.
