Does this cover go over the existing outlet cover or do you have to remove the base cover?

The KidCo Outlet Plug Cover is wider at the bottom (near the wall) 2 3/4 inches and narrower near the top 1/ 3/4 inches by 4 3/4 long by 2 3/4 deep. Thank you,

It would not be difficult for an adult to remove the cover once it is locked into place.  You would simply push the tab in and pull the cover up or down depending on how you install it.

This is a really great cover very sturdy.

I love love love Kidco Outlet Plug Cover. My kids are 1, 2, and 3 and they are very smart, but they haven't figured out how to crack this code yet. (Laughs). It's very hard for kids to get it. My kids haven't opened it yet. Though, they've tried. I'm going to buy more for my other rooms. I highly recommend!

It worked exactly how I thought it would and it's pretty sturdy.

Great product

My daughter is using this now for her 19 month old who's getting into everything! This covers the outlet completely whether it's being used or not. No way for a toddler to get his/her fingers or anything else into the socket. I bought them 3 more of these after she said how great this was. Great purchase. Highly recommend.

Perfect for baby or toddler safety

I love it coz it's easy to install. It worth it's cost and value. 

Unfortunately, after purchasing it I discovered the wall socket in my room isn't screwed. I had to keep it till it's useful or give to anyone who needs it

Great product, kind of flimsy

This protects plugs from little fingers. It was easy for me to install and protects my son and the things that need to be plugged in.

You will need to remove your original outlet covers, but they do offer protection from kids and furniture.

The original cover of the outlet does not fit under the case and when you remove the outlet cover to put on the childproof one the screw is not long enough so you have to go out and buy longer screws

I thought I could place over my original outlet. It looks like I have to replace my outlet cover with this.
