This American Gourmet Offset Smoker does not have a warming rack.

No it doesn&#39;t, but that would be a very good idea

No and there&#39;s not any room for one either. This puppy is small. Very small.

Fire box is small so cut wood is best and no side door so clean up is hard. Big enough for brisket. Do not buy it is a very poorly built smoker. Spend a little more and get an upright propane smoker. It&#39;s so much easier to keep the temp right and you can still add wood chips for flavor.

Does it have an upper rack or a warming grate?

No and there&#39;s really not much room to mod with a dryer hose to make it one

If was a reverse offset, I wouldn&#39;t have threw it into the trash. You won&#39;t find a reverse offset this cheap.

A brisket can definitely be done in this American Gourmet Offset Smoker. The amount of wood needed is determined by how much food is being cooked. Tons of wood is normally not needed.

It MAY fit a small brisket. For smoking I&#39;d start off with a handful of cheap store brand coal and then wood from then on out. That or after 4 hours or so you can swap back over to charcoal but I would only use lump coal at that point and not briquettes.

Smoke

This suites my purpose. If you are smoking brisket, don't do more than 5-7 lbs., and make sure it doesn't over lap onto the next grill that is next to the firebox, because that side of the meat will get burned and cooked faster.

It's okay to go a few inches over, but no more than that. If you are looking to do 8-20 lb. brisket, you're going to need something at least twice the size of this little gizmo.  Is what I do, I buy about 10-15 lb. brisket packet and cut it in half and smoke it on the far right, at least half way away from the firebox - again, its okay to go a 2-3 inches over.

I usually, do the flat 1st, then the point last of the brisket packet. Its the best BBQ I've had so far, and I'm from Texas. Be sure to read the maintenance, cleaning, and storage instructions, if you want your grill to last a long time. That part is up to you, depending, if you're lazy or not.

My BBQ Smoker came with all of its parts and nothing was damage during shipment. I hope you have the same luck too!

I would recommend this smoker to anyone who wants to smoke on a small size scale, who doesn't want to deal with a huge size smoker, that take up a lot of real-estate.

Great bang for the buck!

i purchased our grill June 2012 and use it often. nothing like hickory smoked pork and chickens. I have always used charcoal and enjoy the food cooked or smoked on it.

Assembly wasn't too difficult with two people but one of the knuts/screws was the wrong size for the one of the handles. Gave this to my husband for my birthday gift. It's a smallish pit but its only the two of us. Weve already bbq'd several times and we enjoy this product and the food :)

We love it, smokes great

I purchased this Char-Broil Grill and registered it on their website. When I opened the box and separated the parts and discovered the chamber bottom had broken welds so I called them and they were quick to replace the part for me. I will buy another one from them when this one is worn out from grilling and smoking! Already smoked a Turkey, 12 Chicken Legs and have cooked burgers and bratwurst on it!

It was a great price for a good bbq. My husband loves it and it isn't as small as we thought it was going to be so that was a plus. Haven't had any issues with it yet.

Wasn't as big as it looks, took hrs to put it together and then it cooked a little and I burned a little.... But I do like the look, just has to get over the size

It smoked orite!

The 2 happiest days you'll have with this C.O.S. (cheap offset smoker) are the day you get it, and the day you wheel it out to the curb and watch it get crushed by the trash truck! In between will be ruined food and disappointment. The heat is VERY uneven. Very hot by the firebox, cold on the other end, hotter at the top, colder at the bottom. If you're just going to use it as a grill, with coals along the entire length it's OK, but just buy a decent grill and it'll be 10 times better, and you'll use way less coal. If you need or want an offset smoker, buy a GOOD one!...not THIS one. Here is my favorite picture of this smoker!

2 Happiest days Ever!

It's okay but there were a few broken pieces and a few bent pieces. The lid to the main grill doesn't shut all the way. A lot smaller than I thought.

Faulty

first, it is not enough room for hardly any food. There was no display model look at before buying just went off the price. The smoke box is not big enough to keep a steady smoke stream to properly cook meat. The coals are to close to food for less control of cooking. Should have been a $50 grill. Went and bought another new one the next day.
