Hi Emma good morning to you hon:); I guess you could try, BUT be careful, it reads to me you are going to be doing some neat work there. Are you going to be writing notes to remmber? Good Luck with your project . I use my on a magnatic chalkboard and did my eight grand kids pictures and draw lines to write there birthday dates beside there picture. I bought this and read online to prime it first, but I did two tests one without primer and the other with, and neither made a difference in quality. It's up to you I guess!

you do not need to prime first but it does need to be clean first.If you are painting metal I wound use a green scrubbing pad and alcohol first then rinse it and let dry before painting.This will take off any residue that may be on the metal.

My daughter just got her license and we gave her a car but it was a little ugly so we decided to paint it with chalkboard paint so that she and her friends could draw on it. It took about 9 cans to paint it and touch it up but it works great.Now the car isn't that ugly and they can have fun again and again drawing what ever they want on the car and then just erase it or wash it off.We are very happy with this product.

Spray on so easy and I had enough to spray 3 coats of the Rust-Oleum Specialty Chalkboard Spray paint. I like the finish look on my magnatic chalk board:)

A Great Look

I bought this paint for a display that I was making for a farmer's market booth. The paint goes on well - I covered pine boards in one coat. It dried very fast. I was able to turn the boards over to spray the other side within about 15 minutes! It gave the boards just the right look too. Love this product and have bought 2 more cans so I'm never without.

Covers well and dries quickly!

We turned a useless wall in our kitchen, into a chalkboard. Our grandchildren love it! It was cheap and easy to do.

I have nothing bad to say about this product. But Walmart does ship through FedEx and its horribly slow.

Great chalkboard spray paint

Great product, but don't trust Walmart's website when it says it doesn't have any in stock at the store. That's what happened to me, I waited a week and half for it to be delivered to the store, only to find that there was a whole bunch sitting on their shelves in stock!

Great product but check store stock before orderin

Works great! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because you have to put a layer of primer down first. I sprayed a metal pizza pan from Dollar Tree and it scraped off with any little scratch. I tried again but primed it first and it works well

Make anything a chalkboard

While I'm still waiting to see how well the final product works. This was the biggest mess. And strongest smelling paint. Make sure everything is covered.

It took several layers as planned, I bought two cans of it but haven't even touched the second! My only issue is it is difficult to erase so decide in advance if you are using for a special project, and if not, just know there may be white smudges on your "board" after you are done.

Nice finish but hard to erase

I searched and searched for reviews on this product, all I found were good. So I bought it! Unfortunately this is not to be used for heavy duty projects. Maybe arts and crafts. I bought this to redo my sons train table and have one side be a "chalkboard" when you flip the boards over and the other side for the train stuff. Well, nope. I followed directions to a "T" and waited 24 hours, and even added another 2 coats and waited another 24 hours. I was able to LIGHTLY run my nail across and scratch the paint right off, after endless coats and sweat and tears I gave up. He is two, he won't fret over a detail like I would. So I sent it into his room, sadly even writing with chalk scratches the paint right off!!!!!!! I used the last of it on a craft I have been wanting to do, that sits on a shelf (that no one touches) and it looks great. But for other items, no, not at all.
