It is a storage container for your Marine Deep Cycle Battery, with 50 amp trolling motor circuit breaker, 10 amp accessories circuit breaker and battery charge level indicators built-in. Great product , battery meter will be very helpful , has fuses to aid in motor cutout.
If you were hung up in weeds , fuse will trip and save motor from burning out.
Also features 2 cigarette lighter inputs for fish finder or emergency light.
My only concern to share with others, is be sure to really crank the strap tightly.
It keeps everything sturdy, if you can smack that strap down good and tight.
Very happy , great product. FISH ON !!!

Great power center for trolling motor

I bought this to hold my trolling motor battery in a small bass boat. In the past, I just put the battery in a plastic case. This power center holds the battery and the motor alligator clamps hook onto the power center. It has a great battery reading and you can charge other devices through the USB connector. For a big bass boat that has a main gas motor, this device may not be that useful, but for boats that only have a trolling motor, like mine, it's great.

Works Great To Hold Trolling MotorBattery

Very satisfied with this Minn Kota Power Center. If you are looking for a simple "box" to place your battery in, there are much cheaper options available. However, this item provides the recommended circuit breakers and other options to complete your trolling motor (and other 12 volt needs) installation. Note that some jurisdictions require your battery to be mounted securely, this item provides the necessary mounts, with hardware, for easy install. Strap provided is sturdy as is the overall product. It's what one would expect from a company like Minn Kota. The thumbscrews for the positve & negative connections on the outside of the box are heavily coated and the exposed studs are gold plated. Cables are heavy as well...nothing flimsy about the package. The folding handle on the top lid is made heavy and I foresee no problem in this box handling the weight of a Group 29 or 31 battery. By the way, the description states for Group 24/27 batteries...a Group 31 will fit and that was a concern for my application. I opted to mount mine to the floor using the supplied hardware and if I wish to remove the entire box along with installed battery, there are 2 cupped handles on each end to lift it out. I wouldn't try to lift a heavy battery inside the box with the lid-mounted handle although if the strap was in position and cinched up tight, I would think it would stand up to the lifting.

I am using this on a 2-man Bass Raider-type boat and this Power Center box will keep the battery from moving around when moving and launching once mounted. I like it so well that I'm considering a second Center for another battery. It makes for a very clean install.

More Than Just a Battery Box

Very practical, robust 12V battery case. Dual 12V outlets are well placed. Internal battery wires are pro-grade with tinned ends, thick wire and plenty of slack to fit with the top off. Charge level indicator is simple and bright. Handle, strap and plastic are strong and smooth. Liked it so well I bought 2 for serious power for my pop-up. Two pictures show my set-up.

I have the other type of battery case and for it's cost works great for storage, but for boat usage this case is very nice, coated terminals is a great safety feature (with the cheaper case, i would always take the top off to hook up trolling motor on jon boat) the cigarette plugs are great for charging phone or in my case pluging in my depth finder. it works great at a tailgate using a inverter dc to ac. The only negitive thing i can think of is the handle, it is very sturdy but i do not trust the straps buckle, so i use the molded hand holds on either side.

Let me preface this with the fact that I think it is over priced somewhat. However, of the two power stations I looked at, this looks to be the better built. All the connections are solid. Product description is accurate. I toyed with the idea of just buying a seven dollar battery box but by the time you buy circuit breaker and extra wireing this for me was the better option. All in all I am pleased with the purchase.

Well built

The battery box is well made and large enough for series 27 or 29 large batteries.  Check the polarity on the cigarette lighter plug.  Polarity was reversed for my depth finder, and fortunately I checked it by checking the prop rotation direction on the trolling motor when I touched the two wires to the trolling motor wires.  I bought two battery boxes, this one and another similarly priced but very similar box.  They both work well after checking the wiring built into the lid.
The service was not so good.  I was told it shipped and was charged when it had not shipped.  This following an incident where I my credit card was charged for picking the box up at a local Walmart based on instructions from their website.  They did not have the box and told me they did not know when to expect a box, and that it would take 7 days to credit my credit card for the purchase of the ox they never had even when they advertised it was in that store for pick-up.
