It made of a hard plastic. I kicked it a couple times after we put it together to make sure it will last. It didn't do any damaged to it.

Don't waste your money on this one! The doors are all thin and cheap. None of them close correctly and they'll definitely break off if children are too rough with them. Not your typical Little Tikes quality.

It is pretty sturdy. We had to beat on it a little bit to get it together and it held up just fine. You even have to use a hammer to put the cabinets into place.

The main part of the kitchen and the counters are all the sturdy plastic. The doors are a little more flimsy, but not enough to make me worry about my 2 year old breaking them (she's only been playing with it for a couple days, but loves it!)

The plastic is pretty thin. It is very easy for a child to pull this over on himself/herself.

The plastic is not really thin however the hinges holding the doors is flimsy. We have had 2 weeks and 2 broken doors already....my boys are 1 & 3.
