It does have a back light that you dim at your convenience...so reading at night it is no problem at all.

Oh this is the BEST feature of this e-reader... you can change your font/color to a white text and black background so you can EASILY read at night! It's fabulous!!!

I suggest buying new books from borders, they have a website, and use the epub format. If there are any other online bookstores that offer the epub format use those for the E-Reader.

Yes. Most readers accept books from any source. This particular one does not, so be prepared to buy one or more DRM removal programs, depending on how many sites you want to go to. The DRM keeps ebooks from being pirated, copied, and resold.

DRM (Digital Rights Management) software by Adobe is "protection" software used by public libraries. You can "check-out" e-books through your local public library web-site, but you don't get to own it. The software stops you from being able to access the e-book when your lending period expires. If you only intend to read books that you buy, I expect you will be able to find any book available in a format compatible with the ematic.

You can purchase from Google,Borders Bookstore and Christianbooks.com but you will need the Adobe Digital Edition and it is free to download

DRM Protection basically is copy protection for digital files.

This ereader does not accept DRM protected files. Most of these sellers have DRM protected books (especially their bestsellers and copyrighted books). If you want DRM books I would recommend a Kindle or if you like color a Nook.

I was told by the manufacturer, Ematics, that the EB101 does not support ebooks which are DRM.

It does not. It does come with a USB cable so you can charge/copy files with that.

it does read the e boo,k i put on it. also has a great speaker, does video. also u can see it in the daylight also night a very bright screen, that is adjustable. amazine color on everything saves the pages you are on for every book automaticly, takes u right back to the last page you where on. it does not take an regular sd card but a micro sd card. lightweight, slim and coustumisable, for instance u can change the back round of the pages from different colors and also the letters just not the pictures great on pitures also. battery is good for everything comes with two ways of charging wall or usb.

I was looking for something cute in color that would allow me to pack up a few good books and mags and go and the Ematic E-reader has allowed me to do just that. Even though it does not have wifi, it still does an amazing job to me. It was super easy to learn and is very easy to operate.. It's a really good buy, an amazing value.. The only regret I have with this reader is that, i didn't order it in pink!...
