I think whether or not the comb will last for five years will depend upon how often the dryer is used, the heat setting, and how gentle or rough the comb is used in your thick hair. I have had combs break in other dryers of this type, too. So, I don't really know if I can accurately answer this question at this time.

Yes, I think it depends upon how you use it. I would comb my hair out first with a comb the size of the drier comb and then start blow drying. I even take it in pieces. The truth is my last one did with careful handling but with enough pressure they will break.

I have really thick AND curly hair and it did not break when I used it so I would say yes, but if your really concerned you can try putting parts in your hair first then comb it first and then use the blow dryer attachment after

Try not to use it too long on the high setting and part hair into smaller sections. Go to Sally's or another beauty supply store and buy an extra package of combs. They may cost $5-7

I have natural hair. The key is to detangle hair with leave-conditioner and section it off before drying. My attachments have lasted upwards of 10 years.

Its pretty sturdy. My kids are mixed with long thick curly hair & I always used these types of dryers on their hair so I've been thru quite a few in my life time. This seems like a very sturdy product.

I have 3 daughters with thick hair. I used the smaller spaced teeth attachment to get their hair straighter. After about 6 months, it broke. I ran to Sally's Beauty and found a similar comb attachment. It was a bit of a struggle to get the comb onto the dryer, but I got it on. It is still working and has not broken.

this is a common problem with this style of dryer. weak combs generate company profits in after sales. high dryer heat and tugging breaks most combs prematurely..so either be VERY careful--or buy an extra hair dryer for extra combs and a back up dryer [best deal -cost wise] or plan to lay out extra after purchase cash [with hefty handling/shipping costs for more plastic parts].

Not easily broken. I have afro-kinky hair & I love the fine tooth attachment. They hold up pretty well.

Yes, I have natural hair and these combs last about 6 months. I brought new replacements but they also broke. They are making the combs cheaper to keep us buying them. The dryer last a long time, but combs are cheap.

Not sure what you mean...but if ur asking how long it takes to dry ur hair, for me its about 10-15 mins. I have shorter hair but its a bit thick. But it goes quick, you dont have to fool with a comb or brush in one hand and the dryer in the other. Its very easy, quick & convenient, especially with the different heat selections & the cooling button to lock in the style.

hair drying time is not the fault of the machine-- but the consumer. sufficient towel drying first will reduce machine drying time and wear and tear. it is a machine--it dries--but the human is the control.

the warranty papers have contact phone numbers. the model number is printed on every hair dryer-- call them. if you threw all of that away like most do--well too bad-- now you get on line and look for the info. after market purchases are costly- best bet is to buy an extra dryer at the outset to have backup brushes. company profits are fed by after sale needs- plan ahead!

I am very please with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone who is non a professional and wants a blower that gives a professional look from home. I have natural African American hair and it blow dried and straightened my hair out. My hair felt light and bouncy, even my daughter's hair which is a bit more coarse than mine was done beautifully to prepare for braiding. The two combs are wonderful for different types of African American hair however the brush can be made a little bit differently for our type of hair. Overall the value was great, and the quality was that of a dryer you'll pay a lot more and it seems quite durable.

I have shoulder length, relaxed hair that is medium in thickness and this dryer is awesome for my hair type. after a wash i can blow dry without flat ironing on medium setting and my hair will be straight :) the attachments seem to be sturdy at least for now. i would definitely recommend.
