I agree that espresso (coffee) appears pretty black. This particular espresso finish is dark dark. Darker than the espresso table I bought them for, but it still works fine. I can bearly tell that they are not black. I think they would go fine with a black table. You will probably only be able to notice if you really really try to compare the two. hope this helps =)

I think that these chairs would go really well with a black table; in fact, fantastic!
Espresso is a brown so dark that it looks, under certain lights, as black. That's one of the advantages of that color because it goes well with black or brown.

Assembly

The chairs (2) were delivered faster that expected which is always a plus.
I wanted them as accent chairs for my informal dinning room. I was not expecting them to be of the best quality since they are not going to be used too often so there were no surprises about that or anything else.
The color was perfect and just what it looks like in the picture (definitely not kiwi).
All the hardware was complete and the assembly was very easy. Nothing complicated.

Just what I wanted

I looked at these chairs online over and over again for months. I was torn about if the color would be too bright or not as it is described as KIWI GREEN. The only other review said it was more of an OLIVE GREEN, and I agree. That happened to be a good thing and exactly what I was looking for. My family and friends were against them, thinking it would be too much green, but now that we have them in person, everyone loves them. I am so glad that I went with my gut on this one. The espresso wood is perfect and the assembly was easy. I will tell you that the only con was that the assembly instructions were contradictory and not helpful. There are 5 short screws and 4 long. The 5 short attach the seat while the 4 long attach the legs. After the first one, I figured it out quickly. For the price ( I did hope they would go on sale, but hadn't in the 12 months I've been eye balling them) they are beautiful, sturdy and well worth it. Hard to believe they are from Walmart!

Excellent value, beautiful chairs.

I ordered the kiwi green chair and most reviews said that it looks more of an olive color but it is the same green as shown in the picture. It matches my green décor perfectly! It took me a little longer to put together because I couldn't tell which screws were the long ones and which were the short ones! This chair will definitely set off any décor that you have in any room!

Beautiful,sturdy chair

make sure you do not tighten one leg at a time the chair will not sit flat if you do. Looks great at our dinning table will wait to see if they hold up with our two young boys.

Looks great--low quality!

Although this chair is sturdy enough and is easy to assemble, the color is not as described or shown in the picture. The upper portion is quite a bit darker and can only be described by the word "olive." I asked three other people what they thought of the color, and they all said the same. It's definitely not the color of any kiwi I've ever seen! The legs are a true espresso finish.

Also, be aware of the term "bonded leather": Bonded leather or reconstituted leather is a material made of varying degrees of genuine leather combined with other substances to give the appearance of leather at reduced cost.

But overall, for the price, it's a good deal. We ended up keeping it even though it isn't kiwi because it still worked with our color scheme.

Decent quality but it's definitely not kiwi!

I agree with the other reviewers that the color is olive. The bonded leather felt fragile. Assembly was difficult and once completed, the right front leg was shorter than the other three.
I am returning this chair today.
