Not sure about the wattage, but it heats up and cooks fast. I found that the level of heat was so high, my food was overcooked. You can not control the temperature on the unit.

900 watts also. not sure why you would want more. You can always preheat the ingredients if they are frozen. We use taco meat, chicken, cheese, straight from the refriderator.

This is my go to meal maker for health conscious husband's lunches or late or busy nights where I don't feel like putting in a great effort for meals. Even if you make a mess the clean up is so simple and effortless. What a bargain too and I shopped around to find the best deal.

Best large-size quesadilla maker that fits burrito-sized tortillas for the price. I've looked nearly everywhere and have not been able to find a quesadilla-maker this size for under $20 except at Walmart. Heats quickly and can make a quick and easy quesadilla in about 3 1/2 minutes flat. It only holds a certain amount of filling or otherwise it will seep out the sides----when filled, depending on the amount of filling used, the lid doesn't close all the way. Nevertheless, it makes a great quesadilla once you get the hang of how much filling to use. I hope they never quit making these----- I like them so much that I've bought them as gifts for others. Buy it, you won't regret it.

Best large size quesadilla maker

I like my Quesadilla Maker.  I don't try to close the latch because of fear of breaking it but my Quesadillas still brown and seem to do fine without latching it.  I wish it made them a little thicker as I like a lot of ingredients in them but they are good!

This product is almost 100% the same as the Santa Fe quesadilla version that i own they must of been bought out.We've owned 2 over the past 6 years as we use it so much but because the plates can't be removed and it gets messy and a little hard to clean, we'd buy a new one every few years for about $20. This one is less than $14 so we got it as the plates are looking bad on our 2nd Santa Fe brand.Only difference i can see is they didn't knock out the "plug" molded in were the grease,sauce etc. leak out into a plastic cup that came with the other model.Not a big deal.Yes, its messy sometimes.If you like alot of cheese,pepperoni and pizza sauce like me and cook them crisp(longer than it recommends) you better have it on a catch plate or towel.

Clone of the "Santa Fe" version

Recently purchased the George Foremen Quesadilla Maker for my 13 year old son. User instructions were clear, my son required little supervision from dad & I.
The finished product was as expected.  This counter top appliance is convenient vs using a skillet and the stove.  Easy clean up too.  Overall it's a good buy.  I'm happy we have it.

I just received this unit two days ago and it was great first use. On the second try the handle broke and it doesn’t lock in anymore. Disappointed in quality.

Bought this for my son, the handle broke the first time he used it. He did not overfill it so it shouldn't have broken so easily. This seems to be a major failing of all these machines, all brands. You would think they would solve this with better designs, deeper or better handles.

New machine, same old problem.

I thought this was going to be my favorite cooking appliance for the summer. I was sadly mistaken. The first Quesadillas. I made were tough, which meant they were overcooked. Several times after, same situation. There is no temperature or time control. Very disppointed with my purchase, I gave it away and brought a different brand.
