It says 60 but everywhere I looked online for this model number. It says 120. So....

There are limitations, as I am learning. In the case of this model, using the VGA D-Sub connection the highest resolution you can achieve is 1366x768, which is nowhere near its native resolution. In order to use the FULL resolution, I'm still trying to find out exactly what the criteria are, but it likely requires a very recent video card with a dedicated HDMI output and specific support for a 1920x1080 (16:9 aspect ratio) resolution. My 8800 GT video card, for instance, supports a 16:10 1920x1200 resolution and has no HDMI connector; I have no idea yet how that might limit my actual resolution with this or other TVs. Apparently different brands and models even have different limitations with regard to even just the VGA D-Sub connection.

There is apparently NOT a simple yes-or-no answer to your question. It will require asking a LOT of questions to learn the answer, and not very many people are even aware of this, even support personnel working for the manufacturers (I've made wasted phone calls, including to Sharp).

It looks like this same model listed on dell.com says it has a VGA input.

I bought this TV for the Pre-Black Friday Sale price of $498 and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I bought this TV in San Diego and waited in line for 6 hours to secure one of the 11 available. I have an HD cable box and a PS3 connected to my TV. The picture from the HD cable box is great. The picture on games and blu-rays is AMAZING! The contrast on this TV is very close to a Samsung IMO. They could have offered more control over the picture settings and designed a better remote. The built in speakers aren't the best either. Other than that I have not one complaint. This TV is AWESOME! My settings:

Best Deal EVER!

I've only had the LCD for about three weeks but so far the purchase has provided a lot of bang for the buck. The HD picture (DirecTV provider) is very crisp with excellent contrast between color values. Surround sound is outstanding. The setup directions were straightforwarded. Remote control simple but feature packed. I highly recommend this flat screen. Good price, good quality.

Sharp is sharp

Bought my Sharp LC42SB45UT 42" LCD 1080p 60Hz HDTV at Walmart San Diego. Picture quality of this TV is Incredible in HD programming. Non HD picture quality is above average. No problem with the sound/audio works great. setting is #3 and it's already loud. my settings are:
contrast - 46
brightness - 40
color - 38
tint - 2
sharpness - 3
active contrast - off
color temp - warm

What a steal

Best price by far! One better price found was for a reconditioned model for about $50.00 less, but shipping had to be added.

Easy to use on line service and good communication standards. Easy to pick up at the store, though it would be a little easier to process at service center as opposed to at the back of the store in the camera section...but not a big deal.

Sharp 42" LCD TV

I am pleased to say, I love my new TV. It was only $498. I caught on sale for the pre-black Friday sale on 11/7/09. I have HD w/my cable provider and the picture is awesome. I am going to purchase a surround sound system. I would recommend buying this without a doubt. Why spend over a thousand dollars for a TV, when you can get this one for under $500. What a great buy. I love Sharp products anway. I already have another sharp TV that I've had for over 10 years and still working great. Love it, love it, love it.

The sound is poor at best. Only buy this if you plan using a home audio system to boost the sound.
