According to the label on front, it is pest proof and it does have a seal..I have had no problems with bugs, etc. Yes, It does lock tightly and you can open it with one hand.

They do lock tightly and I have yet to have any pest problems with them...Tho I wouldn't say a raccoon couldn't get into there smart ;) (just in case you wanted to use it outdoors)....

The one I have says that it is pest proof and it does lock tightly, considering it is overall a plastic container. It does get air and moisture in it by opening it up everyday to get dog food out.

The lid does snap shut tightly. I can't attest to pests not getting in, but it has never happened to me. I think it would probably be secure though. I keep my container indoors.

Yes, you cannot open it unless you unsnap it. It snaps tight. I don't worry about anything getting in the bin.

Yes, the top locks tight. It has to be unlatched to open. I guess a racoon could get in it, given enough time.

Containers are NOT ANT PROOF. Little Pharoh Ants had no problems getting into the little cracks under the lid around the seal.

Yes, it clicks close and you have to pull up on a fastener on the lid to open. I love this for my cat food. Keeps it fresh and nothing can get in.

Not sure about ants. The seal seems pretty good, but a squirrel could get in just by lifting the lightweight lid. No chewing involved.

Is the seal on this tight to where ants can not get in if left on porch?

No, the container is not airtight even though it might claim to be. I would look at different containers plus it might not be human food safe.

I just looked at my container and it doesn't say 'food grade' container anywhere although I imagine it would have to be. However, as far as using it to hold flour. I wouldn't recommend it because of the lid. It's hard to explain but the lid doesn't snap on tight on all sides although I haven't had any bugs in my dog food though. You can open the lid by just lifting it up easily so as one who uses flour daily I wouldn't feel comfortable storing flour in this container for any length of time. Hope that helps.

Our store has one very similar to this, same company I think, but smaller, for like a 5-7 lb bag of food. I bought it to use as a diaper pail and I can assure you it IS air tight, because it keeps the smells in perfectly! I'm not sure I'd put flour directly into it, but you could definitely put the flour in the bucket still in the paper bag and it would keep pantry moths and weevils out.

I got one for cat food and one for dog food. I stacked them. They work great.

I recently switched brands of dog food and the previous container was perfect for the previous 12-pound bags. My new brand of dog food comes in 15-pound bags. This meant of course that I needed a larger airtight container to help keep the food as fresh as I can.

I like this container because I can see immediately how much food is left through the slightly opaque plastic. The bland color will match any room in which it is kept. And the smooth rolling rollers are helpful in accessing the container out from under the desk where I store it.

Thick and durable

Love how the wheels are protected in the wheel well.  So they won't get broken like other wheeled storage bins.  Anything I put in it stays fresh with its air tight seal.
Will buy more as it is very versatile storage bin but they do not stack so make sure you have the space for them to be side by side.
