The white board arrives rolled up in a long, plastic box. To apply, I recommend peeling the back off just a little, applying the sticky area to your surface, and slowly sliding the back off as you smooth the white board with your free hand. I never noticed any instructions, so I'm not sure if that's what the company says to do, but that's what worked best for me.
The white board came with a small black marker that included an eraser in its top and a holder that you can stick to just about any surface. The top to the marker also has a slot that you can slide a small, thin magnet into.
The board is glossy and very thin. On one hand, this is great because it looks like a regular poster on your wall and it's comfortable to write on. On the other hand, if your wall is not perfectly smooth, you will see impressions on your white board.
I've always used hand sanitizer and an old rag or sock to clean my thicker white boards and this one is no different. So far, I own two of these and I love them. I definitely prefer these to the standard white boards.
