This is the filter used for old glamour shots. It gives you the soft, somewhat dreamy quality so often used back in the 70s and 80s. It takes the edge off of wrinkles and such in portraits, but it does it across the whole photo. With Photoshop it is fairly easy to selectively soften wrinkles and such, without losing the crispness across the whole photo. If you really want the effect you can accomplish almost the same thing by prefocusing and then twisting the manual focus ring a hair before you take the shot. I find the effect somewhat creepy. It does what you need if you want that. The lack of multicoating is okay given that you want a blurry image
