I bought the Coleman Camping oven this spring for my two year old son. He has acquired quit the taste for cinnamon rolls and chicken nuggets, and we weren’t sure how picky he would be. The stove worked great, it did take a little long then I had hoped to warm up though. But I have an older, very old, Coleman stove, so it’s inefficiencies probably contributed to the pre-heating time. (It took about 20min from start to finish to cook the Cinnamon roles, about 25 – 30 minutes for some large biscuits, and about 30 minutes for the, defrosted, frozen chicken nuggets.) All-in-all about the same amount of time as it took to prep and cook a meal for the rest of us. The Coleman Camping oven is large enough to hold a six muffin tray, and because it’s made from aluminum, cools down quickly, when not in use. (The tray from our toaster oven at home worked perfectly.) I think that the Coleman oven is worth having for any family camping trip, if for nothing else then for the comforts, and taste, of cinnamon roles in the morning.
